J World Sunrise 18" Rolling Backpack

I was so nervous to order this - wheely backpacks are notoriously flimsy - and I didn't want to overspend or underspend. My DD is now in middle school and I figured she was too old for one of these, but she was begging for it and I couldn't bear to see her back bending under the 50+ pounds of books these kids carry! (ok, slight exaggeration). I scoured reviews and settled on J-World - great reviews and very fairly priced. She chose black. It is weird that there is SUCH a price spread for an almost identical product - just different patterns, it seems. ANYWAY. The bag arrived promptly and in excellent condition. DD has been using it for about 2 weeks now. She is thrilled, so I am thrilled. It seems to be great quality. It fits easily in her tight locker. It seems to have slightly less room for books than her "regular" bag, because obviously the wheels take up a fair bit of room. Still, it has not been a problem. I would buy this again with no hesitation - if she gets 1-2 years out of this I will be very satisfied.

Bought this to replace a prior one (same brand/style) I had for 7+ years. Very study and lightweight.

Daughter loved the backpack but after 3 month the handle broke. Cannot justify the price. We bought this with the sole intention of using it as a roller backpack, without the handle it’s a really uncomfortable backpack. I hope they sell replacement parts to repair the handle. Update: they sent me the replacement handle and we fixed that. Soon after the wheel fell off, we contacted them and they sent us a whole new backpack! No issues with the new backpack since so it may have been a flaw but the customer service was GREAT!!! And for that they deserved an update, thanks!

The storage was abundant, however the handle began to jam after 4 months of use, and the wheels literally fell of around the 2 year mark.

I bought this backpack 3 years ago and it's still rolls great, I still get compliments on it!

I waited to give a review for a full use of a semester. I highly recommend this backpack and I love all the different designs. I got the pink paisley one and have gotten so many compliments! I’m in college full time, mostly online. I take my backpack with me to campus or a coffee shop DAILY. I have it FULL. I put my Microsoft surface in it, a trapper keeper, a planner, make up bag full of pens/pencils, and still have room. I did have a leaf get stuck in a wheel once. Got it out and the wheel was fine. I also had the handle get loose but a screwdriver is able to help with that. I think this is my new backpack every year!! I highly recommend it. Can’t speak to using it on your back, because I got this specifically to never “wear” a backpack again. I had an injury and couldn’t for months. This was amazing! —— Update after a full year of college use! The 2 side pockets have holes, but this was my fault. Soooo I can’t use it again next year. However, I can fit: Trapperkeeper, laptop case, planner, wallet, colored pencil case, pen bag, and tons of chargers for all the things in it and still have room. It has held up well in rain, but isn’t waterproof so I sprayed a waterproof spray on the fabric and it helped wick the water off. The wheels have not broken, but something did get caught in one. It’s hard to get in there and try and cut it free, but it can be done! The handle to roll the bad needed fighting 2 times now and it’s not a big deal with a screwdriver. I did wear it 3 times and it’s hard to get straps on/off but super comfortable and don’t notice the weight. I am happy with it and plan to either sew on replacement fabric on the side pockets OR buy a new one for next school year in the fall! Totally worth it if you have a big campus like I do!! Also, the color has not faded and seems are great!

I have to bring several heavy books to class with me and I have to park a good ways from school, so I love having this rolling backpack. It has a large main compartment big enough for all my books plus a sweater, water, umbrella, etc. Also it has several outside zipper pockets for other supplies; all zippers work smoothly. The wheels roll okay on uneven surfaces like gravel. The extending handle operates smoothly. It looks nice enough, nothing too fancy, just a good basic book for everyday use.

Backpack is cute, but we bought it to help my sixth grade daughter’s back since they have to carry around 5 big text books everyday. 4 months into the school year (of course past the return window), the wheel popped off and she is having to use it as a normal backpack now. Would have been great and for the first couple of months it WAS great. Overall, not worth the price, in my opinion.

I waited to review until the trip was over, to see how these hold up. Bought 2 of these for my granddaughters, (ages8 &10) one was pink with little fox pattern, the other purple with palm leaves. They went on a trip to Europe and their parents wanted them to pack very light and only have carry on luggage. They just got back from their 3 week trip, glad to report, these backpacks took the wear and tear of going through airports, trains, lots of walking on uneven pavement and rocky walkways. Both bags are looking really good still, no rips, no tears and the handle and wheels still work perfect. The grand daughters were loved these backpacks, they look nice, are colourful, some pockets for small items, also the zipper opens ‘low’ so that the backpack opens all the way, no digging below for items. These are very sturdy and they had the choice of either carrying them or rolling them. It was worth to purchase these over some that might have cost less, I’m very pleased with the way these held up on their trip, and there’s lots of life left in them for many more adventures. I would definitely recommend these, and if I ever need to buy again, I would not hesitate.

Es la segunda mochila que compro de esta marca, el tamaño es súper grande y muy resistente, el diseño es precioso y muy fácil de usar para mi niño de 4 años, la lleva diario a la escuela, se limpia muy fácil si algo se llega a derramar. La recomiendo mucho
