Excellent chooce for the money
I drink coffee for health and pleasure both. I also try to be environmentally conscious and globallly savvy. Knowing that Al Mokha-Yemen, was the original port of trading for coffee ( hence the modern term Moca coffee) i wanted to experience the coffee grown in Yemeni mountains. This was the most cost-conscious choice as well as being available in medium roast ( hence higher in polyphenols / CGA etc). I ground up the required quantity and used my reusable keurig cup to make coffee. I know it would be better as a pour-over or French press etc but even with keurig there is a distinct complexity of character that you can tell. It tastes and feels unique. I had a friend over who also tried it and said the same. I appreciate the convenience of k cups but it really adds up each time you throw away the plastic so buying in bulk and then grinding in small quantities as needed works really well. Great choice for the money. I havent tried the other brands available because they were bit too much for first Yemeni coffee experience. Maybe in future. But this is a solid choice. No regrets and would buy again. Also arrived on time and in great shape. Only suggestion maybe to add reclosable packaging when cost allows it.

A cup of happiness!! Once upon a time...
UPDATE: this roaster is no longer in business, does not respond to FB requests either....disappointed ... pls come back! Original review: I’ve tried a few diff varieties of Teasia coffee. At first, my brewing process was espresso pot....slighly sour in the palate finish. So I tried my pour over, same issue: a bit harshness of the roast was coming thru. Finally, my Bialetti glass coffee press, produced great Sulawesi coffee nearly perfectly balanced, nutty, round coffee flavors similar to a good Colombian whole bean. Hint: grind on Medium / fine; “burst” the beans in 1 oz. of hot water for 1 minute prior to filling the press with boiling water; and gourmet’s tip is make a blend of central Am. to African or Indonesian beans to make a pleasing blend, reason: brewers secret is that Indonesian are often complemented with a mix of 1/3 central Am. beans...Enjoy! UPDATE: tried a bag of Papau New Guinea from this roaster. Excellent, well rounded. My new fav. Superbly roasted. Pls Teasia bring back to stock.

Smells funky, tastes great
I use a french press and a conical grinder to prepare my coffee. My first impression when I received this coffee was that it smelled....funky. Like damp? Skunky? It's hard to explain, but it didn't quite have that chocolatey smell of a medium roast that I was used to. Of course, this may be a quirk of Sumatran coffee (I have never bought whole-bean Sumatran before) or maybe I got a skunked batch. Either way, once I found the right grind setting and water temperature, this coffee was amazing. The fruity notes pop with a bright acidity that complements the chocolatey bitterness quite well. On the topic of actual acidity, I have a family member that often gets heartburn after coffee, but they are able to tolerate this coffee without issue. 2 pounds lasted us about a month, which is appropriate since the french press technique does require more grounds than percolation or espresso. Highly recommended, though I would like to try this brand's other offerings before I repurchase.

Great Kenyan but Price Just Went Up a Lot
We used to buy Trader Joe's Kenyan, but when they discontinued it we had to go searching. This is the second alternative we found and it will probably be the last because we really like it. It is a little more robust than some other Kenyans I have had, but it still has that distinctive Kenyan taste. The price was not bad either so this was going to be our go-to coffee. However, there was just a $3 a pound price increase so I went to a different brand.

Light roast fans, rejoice: this one's on the lighter side of medium.
I was very hesitant to order a medium-roasted coffee. In general, I strictly drink light roasts—for instance, the only Starbucks blends I can stomach are from their Blonde range, nothing else. Any hints of smoke or charcoal in my cup and it gets dumped. I generally like Mexican blends, and Teasia was out of their light roasts, so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. The Mexican Chiapas is very much on the light side of medium and has a balanced chocolately flavor with mild acidic notes. Just a good all-around coffee that reminds of what we all drank before Starbucks took over the market with the roasted-to-the-edge-of-brimstone flavor profile. I drink my coffee black, but I can imagine this being wonderful with milk. I'd love for Teasia to call out their roasts that are on the lighter side of medium so that I can try more beans similar to this one. I'm excited to sample the rest of Teasia's range.

The best coffee roasters on Amazon!
Amazon lumps all of Teasia's bean reviews together so I have to as well: Yemen mocca: Taste is phenomenal. Almost more chocolate flavors than coffee flavors and the chocolate flavor seems to intensity as the temperature drops. Do not use flavored creamer with this coffee, this is more than good enough flavor on it's own! Rawanda: A great daily brew, it's got a nice mildly sweet and creamy taste and mouth feel to it. I've ordered 6lbs so far and still enjoying it. Bali blue moon: My favorite coffee I've tried so far, and one I've started calling a dessert coffee. It's as decadent as the yemen mocca but with a more creamy mouth feel. It is also my favorite out of the Teasia beans I've tried so far.

Different but a great taste
This is the first time I've had Yemen coffee. The taste is different from any other coffee I've ever had. (I've had them all.) Kind of hard to describe. However it was excellent. I will definitely buy again. Great price as well. So to the seller get some more back in stock and offer 12oz or 16oz bags. **Update I ordered another bag of the Yemen Mocca Sanani and it was terrible. It had a burnt taste and an ashy aftertaste to it. Nothing like the first bag. I contacted the seller and didn't receive a response.

This coffee holds good memories...
In July 2007, I was part of a study abroad group that went to San Cristobal de las Casas in the state of Chiapas in Mexico. I spent 4 weeks living with a wonderful family and going to school for Spanish at the small language school in town. San Cristobal is a mountain town with cool mornings even in July that will fill the early morning with an otherworldly mist that made everything seem so surreal. In the shadow of a 500-year-old cathedral, there is a small cafe that brews coffee with fresh roasted beans from the coffee plantations on the sides of the mountain. I have spent a few years searching for the right coffee with the same medium-bodied notes and smooth flavor; this coffee is a perfect match. I brew a pot of memories every morning. On the seller, I have ordered this coffee a few times now and there was a mix up with the tracking on my recent order. I contacted them for more information and they replied within a couple of hours. It was a simple clerical error and nothing to worry about. Fast, friendly, and courteous. Don't forget they sell amazing coffee.
