Good gift
I got this for my boyfriend who can’t use his other arm to cut foods. It works well on softer foods according to him and It’s like any other fork quality wise. Maybe a little expensive for just being a fork though

Handicap fork (left hand)
I have used this fork with the cutting edge quite a bit. I had a stroke in 2020 and was forced to eat with my left hand. I was always right handed. The fork gives me a chance to eat most things that require cutting.

Works well
Got this for a relative who was complaining about restaurants not providing knives. The knife side of the fork is not really very sharp to the touch; it's designed for people with functional limitations so I guess they didn't want a dangerous edge on it. However, I tried it on a piece of bread and a fresh (uncooked) piece of bell pepper and it worked perfectly on both. It is quite sturdy while still being lightweight and nice-looking, is very shiny, and washes well.

My husband uses these all the time!
My husband (I got him one for left hand and one for right hand as he eats different foods with different hands) uses these all the time now. He loves being able (for most things) being able to cut his food without having to get a knife and trade hands (like so many in the US do). This was just what he wanted (though he would really like one that is more the size of a dinner fork than a salad fork.)

The handle is shorter than pictured.
I was torn between 2 and 3 stars because this product could be a 5 star product if they just tried a little hard. In the image it looks like the handle is long but in reality the handle is very short. It still works okay but a little more weight and longer handle would make this product much, much better. For the price I expected something a little better considering its only one fork not a set. I got this for my mother in law who is an amputee and only has one arm but unfortunately she doesn't have as much leverage as she would like with it.

Thin is in...
This is a great fork knife combo. The head is thin, just right. I have a set of the Knorks and to me they are to thick. Sporks have the extra weight that people associate with quality, but they do not function as well as these thinner forks. Please note that the thinner part of these forks are in the head, the handle is thicker. If you steam rolled a Spork, no problem. The side cutter in question would probably not pass this test. However, when it come to eating, these side cutter forks excel.

not worth it
This cannot cut anything. I am able-bodied and young and bought this because when I eat pizza I like to cut the first few bites off while it's still too hot to pick up and put directly in my mouth. So, not really an endeavor worth dirtying a knife for, but one for which trying to use the side of a fork is sort of annoying and makes my hand hurt. Do not bother with this product unless you are cutting things that a normal fork can cut. It is the exact same experience. Currently trying to use it with a cheese quesadilla and it is simply not cutting through. It is leaving an indentation that I then have to rip to get a pick-up-able piece off of. Total waste of money. Very disappointed.

Purchased as an aid for my father in law who is aging and having troubles with grip. He loves this and it gives him some more independence. The knife piece isnt sharp enough to cut his mouth, but can portion some soft-ish foods (lasagna, chicken, etc) on his plate.

Hard to cut thicker pieces of meat. Good for lefties.

Je suis amputé du bras droit, je l'utilise régulièrement sans risque de coupures à la bouche et je l'adore. Pour couper les aliments tendres sans risque de propulser le contenue de l'assiette sur la table.

This knork was purchased for a one armed man, who finds it very useful.

I was so hopeful about this fork/cutter. Thought it was a fork with a safe knife edge, good for my husband who can no longer use a knife. The edge is thicker, can take a good amount of pressure, but as a cutting implement, is useless. Our everyday stainless forks work as well. Am happy that is was half price - $6 -ish - when I bought it - $12 would have been way too much to pay for something that is already lost in our utensil drawer. Maybe the fault was mine, expecting so much knife action from a fork....
