Very nice St. Benedict medal. I needed one to replace the medal I received when I made my novice Oblate promise. As with more than a few of my blessed sacramentals, it just disappeared. I suppose that's an indication of how effective they are if they somehow go "missing". I saw this one and since it was stainless steel and the right price, and included a steel chain, I ordered it. I did not know that it was large, a bit bigger than a quarter which you can see in the picture. When I took it out of the box and jewelry bag it comes in, I was moved to tears by how shiny and beautiful it is - a true inspiration of Catholic Benedictine faith. The detail is also outstanding. Unlike smaller, less well made versions, everything is clear, including the raven on the reverse side that often looks like a blob on other medals. All of the inscriptions are 100% accurate, and extremely clear. The chain that comes with it is a bit thinner than my own stainless chain, but still sturdy enough. Overall I'm very impressed. Once I have it blessed by our Abbot and turned into a third degree relic by touching to our St. Benedict relic, then it will stay on my person and never be taken off of me. Do not be put off by the "Ghost Hunter" rhetoric on the item description - this is a true blue Catholic medal. If you plan on wearing this, do yourself a spiritual favor and learn the Latin apirations that the initials on the medal represent. I have found them to be a very effective deterent against malevolence and distractions in people and places, and also during readings, meditation, and prayer. "Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux - Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux", and "Vade Retro Satana, Nunquam Suade Mihi Vana. Sunt Mala Quae Libas. Ipse Venana Bibas". Pray them always, and offer your intentions to St. Benedict, and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

This metal is excellent. High quality, great image. It's a steal for the price. I would love to see more saint medals.

This medallion has a great weight and look to it. It can also be worn on other chains very easily.
