Surprisingly awesome
Having used blocks of chalk before, I know how quickly it can get used up. And the listed weight left me thinking "well this won't last long, but let's try it anyway". I've had my chalk ball for something like 3-4 weeks (feels like that, anyway) now. And I honestly figured that powdered chalk in a bag would work its way out in pretty quick order. I was wrong. Even though the bag loses a bit of chalk anytime I touch it (or it touches anything else, like the floor, the mat, etc), the bag doesn't feel any different than when I first got it. Logically it's got to be lighter than it was, but it still feels quite plump. And I'm reluctant to admit that I rarely go light on using chalk, meaning that I tend to apply thoroughly and generously to my hands. The bag is so effective at dispensing just a little bit of chalk that I haven't quite figured out the perfect place to leave it when I'm not using it. For now, I stuff it back into the plastic sack it was shipped in (without resealing the ziplock) and place it into the bucket we use for things like barbell clamps, etc. I suppose a resealable plastic tub of appropriate size (eg, Tupperware or whatever) would be better still, but for now reusing the plastic bag is fine. Maybe I need to go check out what sorts of containers Amazon has to offer.... The chalk powder itself is really decent as well. As mentioned above, I wasn't fully invested in this product when I ordered it but was willing to take a chance. If I needed to order more chalk (for myself, a gift for someone else, etc) I would quite gladly get another one of these. I should add that this review prompted me to rate attributes such as 'sheerness' and 'thickness', and I'm not really too sure what to do with those, so I left those unrated. I can't see through the bag, nor do I feel the need to, so I'm not sure why 'sheerness' is there. Yes, I can see the chalk through the bag material, does that count? And 'thickness'? No idea. I mean, the bag is plenty thick with chalk. Or does this refer to the material? I can't tell how thick it is (not without opening it), but it's not flimsy in the least.

It works.
Gotta say, it really helped with my deadlift to add a bit of chalk. Also used for farmers walks and atlas stones. Great product, the bag also makes it an easy way to chalk your back for heavy squats or to chalk your chest for continental clean and presses.

Good product, just not for me
So, I'm a climber with really sweaty hands. Because of this, I like to really dig into my chalk bag and thoroughly cover my hands. Chalk Balls simply don't release enough chalk all at one time for me to really like using them. The product itself is really nice though. The fabric is firm but with a little bit of stretch, and the draw string has a nice cinch on it for easy refilling. Solid, I just don't think I'll be using it that much.

Rock Solid Performance
I already love getting the Matawi chalk for bouldering, this chalk ball was great for top rope. It is a good size and fullness for almost every chalk bag. It releases a small amount of chalk, so if you want something that will give you a thick coating of chalk, i wouldn't recommend it. I personally like the small release system because it is easier to conserve chalk. I have found that pinching the chalk ball is a great way to apply it. I would suggest this chalk for anyone looking to improve their top rope by using a better chalk and chalk ball.

Wish I got this sooner
I have normally used bulk chalk in the past for weight lifting, dumbbells and kettle bells etc, but seems to always get everywhere so I got this refillable chalk bag. I wished I had got this sooner. This is much simpler, less messier and uses less chalk. I keep it in a 2 gallon bucket which I plan on covering with only a small hole for my hand to fit in so the dust doesn't fly out even I use it. Overall I give this 5 stars

Great product, easy to use
Great chalk ball. My kids (5 and 8) use it for swinging on bars and it greatly improves grip. Enough comes out with each use. The ball comes packaged in a zipped bag and is filled and ready to go. The bag works great for storing the ball in between uses.

Does the Job!
I use the chalk for climbing but I've never used a chalk like this before (I'm used to the bottled cream stuff). Compared to the liquid version there's a lot of mess and more trouble to get the chalk on my hand it seems. Though, even when there doesn't seem to be an even coating (like there would be with the cream stuff) the chalk still seems to provide enough grip. So, it works! Plus it can last longer than the bottled cream stuff and that's less plastic bottles out in the environment now.

I LOVE it!
it's a really nice chalk bowl, I use it every time I go climbing! its spread the chalk evenly all over your hand just the amount you need. Highly recommended, it's an amazing product!
