Ok for the price
It is cheap. That's about it. You can tell by the trimming and the finish that it was produced and out-the-door without much care. I would save your money and get one at double the price from Adorama, or triple from Manfrotto, if you are to use it with a very expensive flash. If not...even then I would use something better.Reasons: 1) The screw that holding the head pin threaded out when I twisted it to the point of actually holding the weight of a flash2) the handle for the leaver is too large compared to other units, and takes up more space than needed3) The plastic holes are not trimmed of excess plastic when they manufactured it. Too rough-looking4) The little knob that is pictured red, is actually black.5) I know most of those grips are superficial, but the one that matters still holds true: the threads are not strong enough and it is not trust-worthy.My apologies to the manufacturer, I really wanted to like this unit because of the price, and yes, I AM going using it, but not for anything important.

This has been a sturdy useful item and should work well if you are ...
To start I want to say that I am a photographer that uses speed lights with umbrellas all the time.I have had this item for quite some time now and have used it to mount my Nikon speed light with an umbrella when on a photoshoot. This has been a sturdy useful item and should work well if you are looking for a basic mount. It is not perfect and you get what you pay for however if you are looking for a less expensive starter mount or a backup mount then look at this mount.

Well made but a little bulky
Well made, holds good. I trust my metal brackets for my heavier equipment, but this one is no "slouch". I did not get it to use as a flash bracket, but for studio strobes for background lights. The extra parts went to other studio uses.

stripped
It works alright but the umbrella part stripped really quickly. So had to buy a new one - different brand/model.

Plastic not aluminum
Ad says aluminum construction but all except camera mount clamp is only part made out from aluminum. Plastic would probably work but I've seen too many crack over time.

Plastic!
For being mostly plastic this thing is fairly heavy. I really like the big adjustment handle and the whole thing feels pretty sturdy. I tried it out briefly and everything seems to be of high quality just plastic. I don't think it's going to break anytime soon though.

Good Flash Bracket
Good flash bracket and price right. Does everything a flash bracket should at an affordable price. I couldn't find anything negative about this unit.

Does what it's supposed to
It's my third one. Combo of plastic with some metal, but still fairly heavy duty
