🌍 Fly Clean, Fly Smart: The Future of Fuel Testing is Here!
The GATS Jar 12oz fuel tester is an aviation-grade, environmentally friendly tool designed to collect and filter fuel samples during pre-flight inspections. Its innovative built-in filter separates water and particulates from fuel, allowing clean fuel to be returned to the tank and preventing harmful AVGAS contamination of soil and groundwater. Lightweight and precise, it supports safer, eco-conscious aviation practices.

Good size for smaller planes, works perfectly.
It's hard not to like a GATS Jar. With AvGas prices being what they are, who wants to waste any? That and dumping it on the ground is not necessarily a good thing. This is about a simple as it gets, yet it still allows you to separate water from fuel so you can put the fuel back into your plane. This is the smallest one they make, so if you have a large number of sumps (like on a modern C-172) you may want a larger jar, but this is perfect for the small number of sumps on my wife's 1956 C-172. And it's small enough to fit in the seat-back pocket on the pilot's seat.

Excellent fuel sump jar
What I like about it: 1. It's made of plastic and is unbreakable from a typical fall 2. It has a screen that allows you to return the fuel to the tanks. The screen effectively blocks any water and debris from returning to the tank. 3. The screen is easily cleaned by unscrewing the lid and blowing out the debris. 4. The plastic jar is very clear and allows easy inspection of fuel condition. 5. It's far easier to sump tanks and avoid any fuel spilling onto your hands. 6. Allows you to take large fuel samples without discarding fuel... Gas Ain't Cheap! What I don't like: 1. I think that the jar plastic is thin and may scratch. 2. It's light weight and can easily be moved by wind. Minor issues that are far out weighed by the benefits. I highly recommend this fuel sample jar.

So good I got two, one maybe one day for my own helicopter :)
have to say a really good product, By using this to test fuel any crap or debris is kept in the jar for and prevented from entering the tank on pour back by the mesh screen. Just put your fuel tank flexi drain tube into the circular necked opening and hit your drain valve and it gets straight into the jar ahead of the filter screen section. you can clearly see exactly what was in your tank. It large enough to take a really good sample and see any water very clearly, some of the smaller screwdriver type checkers you couldn't even milk a gnat into, this is a large jar in a small package. I can take a good draw from both tanks on the R44 I fly with room to spare and clearly see any issues (none yet) and then simply pour back into the tank. There is only one improvement I think they could make and that is to provide a lid that goes over it when you are finished to prevent any dirt or dust from wherever you store the device getting in there. I've seen that on one in a machine I flew that first tempted me to buy one of these. I actually ended up buying two of these as they are that good

Does the job
It works as it should to collect aircraft fuel to check for water and contaminants.

Very basic, but saves fuel!
This fuel tester is essentially a transparent jar with a fuel-tester ending. It does the job just as well as other fuel testers do. It has a mesh on the return end so that after you've checked the fuel for contamination you can pour it back in the tank. And since you are not throwing fuel away, you are really saving it. The only drawback to it is that it is a little bulky. You cannot stick it in a side pocket, while you are doing a pre - flight inspection. Maybe adding a strap to it so it can be attached to a belt could be a good solution.

Good Eco-friendly designed; poor quality & longevity.
Love the design to keep fuel off ramp, but quality doesn’t hold up. After two years of use, about once a month, my lid cracked similar to others who posted photos. I never dropped or never unscrewed/ over-tightened. Just noticed one day it was cracked. I will purchase similar style from another seller at cheaper price. I can’t justify full price for name brand if I will have to replace again in future. This is not the same jar I remember using 25 years ago when I learned to fly. Sorry.

Excellent fuel sample taking device.
GATS jar, if you don't have one, get one. For $25 this is a handy device to keep from wondering, what do I do with the fuel sample? Take the sample, inspect, put fuel back in tank. I've used it on Pipers and Cessnas. Good stuff.

Only lasted about 6 months
This fuel sampler works well but feels very cheaply made. The lid is cracked and leaks all over my hands now after 6 months of use.
