Great value, quality, and excellent flavor. I usually use half the recommended spice mix due to having little ones, and the heat level is perfection.

We are a little obsessed with our local Indian restaurant right now. We can’t afford to eat there as often as we like so we try and make our own! We marinate in spices and yogurt and just use this to supplement the flavors a little. The flavor is good, and doesn’t seem too spicy. It smells great. Only problem I had was the price for what you will receive. The packet was very small.

These packets of Indian seasonings are amazing. Warning: use only one half of each packet or it will be too spicy. I simply put chicken pieces in crock pot, season with this, dribble olive oil and add no more liquid. I let it cook for 2-3 hours on low setting and then serve over Jasmine rice or asparagus risotto. Yummy. I ordered 6 boxes since the shipping was the same. I have given two boxes to friends, and I will now see if anyone stocks it here in Austin.

This is not the same as Shan Butter Chicken, I’ve been purchasing it in the store for years. This one had an odd color which made me check the ingredients. This contains Almonds which I am severely allergic to. Almonds are not a listed ingredient and I’m grateful I checked first as I could have had a severe allergic reaction and a possible hospital visit. It is incredibly dangerous to not disclose nuts are in a food item.

I love Indian cuisine but have little experience cooking it. The Shan Butter Chicken Mix makes it so simple for me to prepare at home one of dishes I most often order when eating out. The mix itself is medium spicy - not too hot, not too mild. I substitute canned tomato puree if I don't have time to prepare fresh (not as good as fresh, but it'll do in a pinch!). I've also started using less than the called for amount of butter to make the dish a little less rich. And that's what's so great about this mix; you get the spices needed to prepare Butter Chicken but have the flexibility to tailor preparation according to taste. Not sure what an experienced Indian chef would say about a boxed spice mix, but for me it's so convenient and delicious.

Amazing curry full flavour that I love to use if I’m in a hurry just sauté your onions add the tomato’s and chicken and put the powder in from the box and water and any other vegs you want stir in and slow cook it doesn’t have to be stow cooked I just find this a good option if in a hurry and I can just put in all in and leave it to do it’s self and when you return back you have an amazing tasty curry

Ive tried making butter chicken from scratch many times and i decided to give up when ive tried this simple Shan butter chicken masala, its very simple to do, and it gives a lot!! I had purchased 2 boxes to make dinner (we are a family of 5) and 1 box was more then enough!! For the price you cant go wrong, and taste good,.. a little spicy for the kids tho.. but we like a little kick to are food. I will purchase again this product.
