littleBits Space Rover Inventor Kit

Excellent kit for kids to build a space rover and great value at £20 but it needs an iOS/android tablet to run the littleBits app for instructions and to control it. Littlebits App is free so check you can download an run it before purchasing. Can be expanded by all the other littleBits components and should be possible to expand with adapter for arduino or micro bit which would allow arduino ide, scratch and python programming in future. Littlebits seems to have been acquired by Sphero so hopefully support will grow / continue.

Purchased this as a birthday gift for my space obsessed niece (11 years old). She's been having loads of fun with it. She's also learned quite a bit from this kit as it is very accessible and customisable. The templates, circuits, and app make it very easy to pick up and experiment. The entire experience has made her comfortable and confident at taking the circuits and cardboard apart and putting them back together to do different things which is very impressive in my book. She's already grown attached to her space buddy and has named her little rover Cassiopeia. Lovely packaging and the fun, educational component truly make this kit a great gift!

I was amazed with how much there was to do with this pack. My DD 8 has sent several days now doing nothing else, and she’s about halfway through the bits to do. I really like the way it breaks down the build into small sections and adds different arms or flippers depending on the ‘mission’ your on. There’s about 30 missions and each mission has some build followed with how and why’s and information about space or nasa engineering.

little bits can be very expensive but this one is cheap for what you get, there is hours of fun with this

I got it as a gift for a friend and couldn't give it to him for 3 months because of lockdown. He finally got it, put it together and he's soooo excited to play with it! Like a child :) Great gift idea not only for kids but apparently also for grown men.

My son brought this out of his own money. And it arrived quickly. But it is made very poorly and not very sturdy. Could be more better constructed for the price. Also son had to put selotape some of the bits together to make it work. It also should have 4 wheels instead of 2 at the front and one small ball thing at the back as is does make it unbalanced and it does fall over etc. Would not buy theses kits again. They are to over priced for what they are

Little Bits Kits are simply the best. The bits join together by magnets. There are multiple projects to make and the online tutorial is great. We also have the Droid Inventor kit, the Avengers arm one, the guitar kit and several of the smaller kits. All the parts are interchangeable. This is a great deal as many other sites have it over $200! Very fun and educational. Children can build on their own and it's fun for adults. I'm not as fond of the cardboard parts but it lends for more creativity and customization of the Rover. Definitely worth every penny.

We bought this for my Son for Christmas. The second time he played with it the piece that attaches to the wheel broke. So now it’s useless.
