Uncle Mike's Quick Detach 115 Push Button Sling Swivels (Blued, 1-Inch)

These work great. I used a 1/2" drill bit and a 'depth tube' around the drill bit, to be sure I got the hole drilled exactly deep enough. The 'Depth tube' is about a 2" long piece of 1/2" pvc pipe. I adjusted how far the drill bit was installed in the drill chuck until the drill bit would only drill down to the exact depth I wanted.I use an old 2X4 to practice adjusting the depth needed to get the insert flush with the butt stock. I also drilled a pilot hole for the wood screw that I used to hold the insert into the butt stock(forget the glue). I checked the wood screw I was planing to use, to be sure the removable part of the Detachable Sling Mount would still drop in the insert. I used a coated "decking" wood screw so I wont rust over time.

I purchased this set of Quick Disconnect Sling Swivels and mounting cups for my Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 1st Generation rifle. The current MOE edition of the rifle comes with mounts that are very similar, but comes with only a single QD swivel.The installation in my rifle was very easy. I drilled a pilot hole all the way through the receiver so that the cups would line up on both sides and then drilled from both sides towards the middle with a brand new 1/2" brad point bit, stopping to test fit for depth as I went. Once the holes were the proper depth, I glued the cups in both sides with some JB Weld. I gave each cup a few twists to make sure that the epoxy covered the whole joint.and the grooves machined into the surface of the cups They are mounted rock-solid and look almost identical to those on the factory MOE edition. The Uncle Mike's mounts are black and match the gun a little better than the MOE edition mounts which are phosphated. The MOE QD swivel fits just fine in the Uncle Mike's mounts, but I haven't yet tried other makers' heavy duty QD swivels.The finish of the Uncle Mike's is a little rough and inconsistent. One of the cups feels 'grittier' no matter what swivel is used in it and one of the swivels feels 'grittier' no matter what cup it is used in. The other cup and swivel are smooth and operate just as they should.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. The Uncle Mike's set is as cheap as a single mounting cup or QD swivel from some other manufacturers and works very well. The installation is simple and the QD sling swivels add to the versatility of my rifle.

This little units are GREAT for putting QD sockets in any solid material - Aluminum, Polymer, or Wood. You just drill a hole, coat the hold and the outside of the socket with Epoxy or JB Weld, and press it in place. After it dries you got a low-profile QD socket. I put this in the middle of a YHM lightweight quad rail, sitting flush with the rail so something could still be mounted over it if I wanted.The only complaint is that the button on the male clip is stiff, and the fit (when assembled) is so tight it is somewhat difficult to release it. I'm guessing with a little lube and some time to wear in, its going to work just fine like all my other QD systems, but it was a little annoying.Still worth every penny and then some. Great product!!

Not Magpul, not USA Made, but a product put out by a brand with a great reputation all the same. Given most companies manufacture their products in China these days I am not adverse to purchasing something as mildly significant as sling swivels for a sporterized military rifle I spent less than $200 on. These work perfectly for the ATI Archangel stock I have mounted my Mosin Nagant M91/30 on. I can guarantee that this rifle is a great deal heavier than most of your AR-15s.

These were OK. There are all metal and lock in securely but I had read of poor quality...since you depend on these holding your rifle from crashing to the ground or worse you need to trust them. Epoxy set the female parts even into wood...absolutely for composite. I do not use the male sling holders since my slings came ready to mount, I just wanted the female part to mount in the stock. Having said that, I would trust these.

Bought these for my Magpul fixed carbine stock. Wasn't sure if they would fit - but with a little JB weld, they fit nice and snug and stayed put. I didn't have any issues that others had with the QD swivels that came in the package. Not the best fit and finish, but functional nonetheless. I have larger QD swivels that fit just fine in the sockets.

Can't beat the price. The quick disconnect works... but it's rather difficult to work at first. Needs some time to wear down the edge so that work quicker. installed this on a Keltec KSG. MUCH better than the standard sling option keltec had.

After testing them out, I don't plan to use the swivels that came with the bases. Even after lubricating them well they are extremely difficult to remove from the bases. They are so difficult to disconnect and must be pulled out with such force that I'm concerned that they will actually pull the base out of the rifle stock once I've installed them. Look elsewhere. My other QD swivels from Midwest Industries work great.
