Good basic book for learning Japanese. The one has no English innit, which means it is suitable for everyone who wants to learn Japanese for real, but you need to learn Hiragana and Katakana first to understand the grammar in this book.

Great book, but I will warn anyone picking this up with the intent of learning from it. This book series is structured as a workbook on steroids and doesn't function well as a "lesson book." So, if you're buying part 1 or part 2 of this series as a beginner... forget about it. It's just not for you. However, if you're an upper beginner or early intermediate, this book series works well as supplemental material that you can use to practice. Book 1 is easy enough for an upper beginner to get through and get practice with. The second works best if you go through it with a teacher or a tutor. Again, treat this book series as though you just wanted to buy a workbook to practice your Japanese with, not as your primary source for learning grammar and vocabulary.
