Children's Quick and Easy Cookbook Review: Accessible for any reading level. - I love this book. I was gifted this book when I was about 7, I'm 33 now and I was delighted to find it again. I always found the recipes delicious and the way they are presented is very accessible and easy to follow along as you cook. There's a good range of skill here and I'd recommend this to anyone learning how to cook. Review: Beautiful color photos throughout of ingredients needed and each step - We ordered this book specifically for an eleven year old girl who didn't have access to great education before and is pretty shaky when it comes to reading; she's also a sweet, wonderful, passionate little girl who is very interested in cooking. We wanted a book she would be able to easily follow but wouldn't be full of "baby recipes" so that she wouldn't feel like we were pandering to her. This book fit the bill completely. It is full of some outstanding and interesting recipes, everything from items simple enough for a young child to understand to complicated enough to keep a teenager interested. And every single recipe has pictures of the ingredients listed as well as pictures on what to do step by step in the instructions. This has been an amazing learning tool for our niece and I would recommend this wonderful book to parents for their children of all ages. It keeps things simple and easy to understand, but opens up a world of culinary experimentation for a younger generation. Excellent buy.

Just okay
Just okay, the pictures are nice and directions are easy to follow but my kids turned their noses up to most of the recipes

Skip the easy bake, let them really cook!
My 6yo daughter loves to bake and to cook so I got this for her for Christmas (instead of the light bulb oven most girls get). It was a HIT!! There are multiple pictures on each page and it easy to follow along. The recipes aren’t the standard go tos that most books have which is great for us. There are a few recipes that have ingredients that aren’t always readily available in our area, but we’re not counting them out just yet. It’s a great book for early cooks and encourages so many skills!

For Older Children
This cookbook is not what I could call your basic kids' cookbook. I feel it would be good for older children or for children who have a flair for the gourmet. The recipes have more ingredients and more steps than the usual children's recipe, and a few of the recipes are for dishes that most kids wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole, such as "Salade Nicoise" with anchovies and black olives. Of course you could always modify the recipe. The good thing about it is that it has nice pictures of the finished item and several of the steps. All in all, I am not sorry I bought this book, and like every cookbook, it is "hit and miss" recipes, but we rely more on "The Everything Kids' Cookbook," for more basic recipes, even though it doesn't have nice pictures like the DK book does.

A perfect ingredient for a chef-inspired gift set!
This cookbook is awesome!! The instructions are clear, pics and photos are great, and the complexity of recipes ranges from beginner-ish to advanced. I have loads of adult friends that can’t even cook a portion of what this is teaching my kiddo! It’s great, and I bundled it with a child’s chefs apron set, mixing bowls, spice caddy and cutting board with color coded knives to make a “junior chef” inspired gift set. It was a HUGE success, and this cookbook brought it all together

i have bought a few simple cook books before but they were hardly 'simple' for children .. i have 2 boys aged 4 and 2 .. this cook book is perfect for them !! the list of ingrediants has pictures so the children can 'read' it too .. the pictures are very bright and colourful . the step by step is easy to understand . and the ingrediants and qwuite basic . but the overall recipes are very varied and very tasty ! very very brilliant book thank you :)

My 3 and 6 year old love this cookbook. They adore looking through the book at the pictures, choosing and making the recipes. My six year old will read the recipes out loud to the 3 year old. My 3 year old sometimes chooses one of the recipes as his bedtime story, and we sit together and read through the ingredients and steps. We pick recipes to make and make shopping lists together, and in the grocery store they let me know what ingredients they need to make the recipes they have chosen. So great for teaching a love of food, meal planning, shopping, cooking, and eating. All in all, a wonderful resource for getting kids excited about making and eating tasty food!

I our house we adore cooking and this series of book is a welcome addition to our home. The bright strong coloured photos and it's easy step-by-step instructions makes for interesting reading for any child. We have made a number of recipes together from this book. The results were excellent. Thanks to this series of books, my children are wanna-be, budding chefs.
