This would be PERFECT, except the fast forward is on the left and the rewind is on the right. What, are we in England?? It is so frustrating. Even on the Express Scribe screen rewind is to the LEFT and fast forward to the RIGHT like normal people would do. I do not understand this design flaw at all. Is there a reason? Sure you can turn the unit around. But then it's angle up toward your foot, putting your foot and leg in and uncomfortable unnatural position. so weird.

I can't talk about the quality of this pedal because unfortunately I can't use it with my Mac. But I will say that it is useless to me. I purchased this pedal to use on my Mac. NOTE: THE HEADING FOR THIS LISTING IS "Transcription Foot Pedal for use with Express Scribe for Windows or Mac Transcription Software." NOWHERE does it say it is not compatible with Mac. WelL guess what. I finally took it out of the box to use it and it was not recognized. I looked for drivers on the ECS website. No drivers. I downloaded the free Express Scribe software and the PDF Help is out of date but mentions MacOS. This pedal is only compatible with Windows. $65 down the drain on something I can't use. Really frustrating. For reference, I have been recording interviews on my Mac, which saves to MP4 format. You can easily convert to MP3 with any number of free services online, then load it into the free ExpressScribe software and slow it down or use your hotkeys to start and stop. Not as easy as the pedal but it's free.

I like this fine but it does not work well with Wordperfect if you still use it. It does a good deal better with Word. There are some functions that you can apparently do with the foot pedal and a letter on the keyboard that mostly just mess me up when my cursor has moved and I didn't know it.

Performance

When I tried to reassign pedal functions via the Express Scribe software, the pedals could not be reassigned. (I wanted to reverse the FWD and RWD pedals.) NCH, the makers of Express Scribe, said this pedal is not on their approved list of devices, which means the seller has falsely advertised its compatibility. Otherwise, the pedal works, but not the way I want it to.

My first unit arrived broken, but they shipped me a new one for free as soon as I reported it. The new unit works as intended and has helped streamline my workflow since I work with lots of audio recordings.

Uso questo pedale per trascrivere ormai da qualche mese, in abbinamento con Express Scribe. Il pedale è solido e dà una sensazione di sicurezza sotto il piede (non sembra plasticaccia pronta a rompersi, per capirci). L'installazione è quanto di più facile: si inserisce nella porta USB del PC ed è fatta. Il cavo è sufficientemente lungo da non risultare fastidioso mentre si lavora. Il tasto centrale, se premuto, fa riprodurre l'audio. Quando si smette di premere, l'audio si arresta. I due tasti laterali invece sono per andare avanti e indietro nell'audio. Eccellente acquisto che velocizza sensibilmente il lavoro di trascrizione.
