AC Safe Pan Tablets - 30 Count: Cleans scum in Drain Pans and Humidifiers

This is my second purchase of these tabs which I use to effectively reduce the musty smell that comes from my two overhead mini-split heat pump heads. Every 10 days or so they start smelling bad when the air flow is slow or they have dried out - active coolers with regular condensation flow do not smell much, only smelly after they have been off overnight or being run without the cooling action. Odor goes away entirely during the winter heating period but returns with moisture condensation during cooling mode. I have not tried other brands which may work better or longer, or may be a waste of money - I chose the US made brand. Shelling out $30 or more for a different brand in a large bottle may save you money, or they may not work as well for you as this brand. Its a gamble. The tabs won't start working until your cooling head is actively dripping condensate onto the tablets, they have to dissolve slowly and flow along the drain trough to work. They are not perfumed. I have never had a clogged drain hose. Place these on the opposite end of the condensate trough from the drain so the active ingredient flows over the odor causing bacteria first.

These AC Safe Tablets have been a game changer for keeping my drain pan and humidifier clean! They’re incredibly easy to use — just drop one in, and it does all the work for you. I use these in my home HVAC unit for the humidifier/condensate removal pump. Over time it will develop a slimy layer of mildew so I needed a way to mitigate that. One tab every 2-3 months wasn't enough, it still developed a thick layer of nasty. 1-2 tabs every month or so works better, but honestly it still needs to be cleaned out yearly. Regardless these tabs prevent the slimy layer from taking over and causing clogs or nasty smells, so I definitely recommend them.

Good price and they worked fine. They keep the dehumidifier bucket from getting gunked up. They smell like dish soap!

These tabs do the job they're suppose to do, however, they leave a messy blue residue that's difficult to clean.
