Everytime I walk by I can't help saying
Nice rack. I mean a really nice rack. It holds my Delta 15.5 kayak like you wouldn't believe. I LOVE that I can space this out. If I had the room and the inclination I feel I could put a 17 footer on this rack. It's so easy to build. It's so nice when it's built. I really like it. Once you build one the second builds even faster. I've had no issues being able to move what I need moved around. I do wish a little bit that I could buy maybe one more stand instead of two. That way I would feel very confident in putting a 22' surf ski on it. But as it is, fantastic. The cons...well if I had to put the largest hobie fishing yak on there, I'd say this is not the rack to buy for that. I think it would fit a Hobie Revolution 13' ok, but any wider than that and you're probably pushing it. As far as the racking goes, I put the J hooks at the top on the highest I could go. And then dropped the bottom J hooks to just above the floor. Without looking I think maybe the second peg hole from the bottom. There's plenty of room for your average yak to go underneath. Materials: Construction looks good. I think the rack itself could stand some sun and rain. I'm unsure about the screws however. They are coated so it's a fair shot that they'd last a fair bit in the sun and rain. I'm not leaving it outside so I can't speak to that. Speaking of outside. If I was going to put these racks outside I'd want to ensure the bottom of the rack sat on some level surface. Maybe put some paving stones down and if your area is windy, I'd consider bolting it down. Great purchase overall and very pleased.

Easy assembly, sturdy, easy adjustment, great price
We bought this to store two kayaks, a 14 foot Eddyline Equinox sit-inside and a 9 foot roto-molded sit-on-top. Both fit without issue, even considering that the roto-molded boat is quite wide at about 31 inches. Assembly took only about 20 minutes, with my grandson and I working together. As the support posts stand independently of one another, determining placement to support both boats was a snap. The fact that they're independent also means they're light and maneuverable enough that the stand can be easily moved to a new location by one person. There are adjustable rubber leveling feet, and also hardware to allow the supports to be bolted to a floor, if desired. The cradles for the boats can be assembled so as to be easily adjustable, using a pin-and-latch arrangement, or to be fixed in final position using bolts. Hardware is provided for either method. The cradles have fabric-wrapped pads to protect your boat from scrapes. Finally, there are two adjustable webbing straps that are attached to each cradle arm, and buckle around the boat's hull to keep each boat where it belongs. One very slight con was the instruction sheet. The illustrations could be improved for those who haven't got good skills with projects needing assembly, but even given that, it would be difficult to go wrong as most parts will only fit when assembled the proper way. Also, the instruction sheet referred to lock washers required for many of the bolts, but apparently the manufacturer has switched to using nylock nuts, making lock washers unnecessary (and therefore also not provided). Finish appears to be good, with the steel parts apparently powder-coated in orange and black. That's a good choice for finish for most areas. However, that means that one concern I have is the longevity of the product in our environment. We live mere yards from the ocean's edge, and the combination of salt air, moisture and hot, sunny weather here in Baja will certainly test the material choices. Intense sun's high UV attacks powder coatings (which are a form of plastic), and salt attacks the steel. But that's a minor quibble, and really not likely what the overall market for this product requires, and the material choices are certainly not unique to this manufacturer. And really, RAD Sportz deserves recognition for delivering this product at this price, as many manufacturers charge significantly more. About the only real material change that would answer our local environment would be the use of 304 or 316 stainless steel. It's anywhere from 3-5 times more expensive than the carbon steel used here. Many other manufacturers are charging 2-4 times more for similar products that are not advertised as, nor appear to be, significantly different, and are certainly not stainless steel. The price for this product from RAD Sportz is certainly competitive. A nice option for this rack would be a separately available extension post and cradle set allowing for storage of a third kayak or paddle board. Sadly, I don't see such an option on RAD Sportz's website, nor here on Amazon. I'm happy with my purchase, and expect many years of use from this rack.

Best bang for your buck, worth it $$
Don’t let the negative reviews persuade your decision. Im using to store my OC-2 and OC-1. Excellent product and worth every penny. Sturdy, can easily carry its descriptive pounds of 100# each cradle. With the cost of lumber and time savings of building, it was worth it to me. Took about 1 hour to put together, but I took my time. Instructions aren’t the greatest, but it’s pretty straight forward if you can read instructions and look at pictures. Packaging was good, arrived in good condition. All pieces were intact and all holes aligned up to put all bolts through. Powered coated steel, orange color seems adequate and decent. Leveling foot pads are great for uneven surfaces. I wish Radz sports offered another option to add to this rack for a third cradle, maybe on the opposite side, however I could not find one. Being that these racks are independent, makes it easy for one person to move around, nice and light. My canoes are 21’ long and 24 ‘ long respectively. I’m going to purchase another one for my other OC-1’s. Would recommend & purchase again. Mine was sold by and shipped from Amazon.

Nice stand
The metal rack was easy to assemble and feels sturdy. Since there are 2 unattached uprights instead of 1 piece, it will be easy to move the stand from my garage during kayak season to my basement for the winter. The arms that hold the kayak are nicely padded and have a strap that holds the kayak in place. It is easy to change the height of the arms. 4 stars instead of 5 because I just got the stand and can't judge its performance over time.

Durable and Flexible
This kayak rack is the perfect height for all family members to access 2-11.5 foot kayaks and easily remove them from the rack. It doesn’t take up too much floor space in the garage. It’s very durable. Having 2 separate posts makes it very easy to set up and allows you to adjust as needed based on your kayak length.

Great Quality and Fits Wide Kayaks
There were not many reviews for this product when I purchased it and I saw a few mixed reviews so I wanted to leave a review of my own. I think this is my first or second Amazon review and I have been a member since 2013. If that tells you anything about how impressed I was with this product. The quality of this product is spectacular and was extremely easy to assemble. Its very sturdy and looks amazing. The storage rack that I ordered was the one that is 73 inches in height and I was uncertain if it would fit my wide sit on top kayaks. That is the main reason why I am leaving this review. My kayaks are 36.5 inches wide and this storage rack fits them perfectly with room to spare. I even have them facing the same direction and I am sure I could free up more space by storing them in opposite directions. I also cut up a pool noodle to add padding where none is provided. My second photo shows where I added the pool noodle however, Amazon keeps rotating that photo, so I apologize for that. Hope this helps others with their shopping experience.

Wonderful purchase
Sturdy, easy to assemble, easy to move, easy to use. There is nothing not to like about this rack. I am using it to store two 9.5 foot kayaks and I move it in and out of my shed per season. But they are so sturdy I am keeping them outdoors now, freeing up space in my storage shed. Even in windy island conditions. Even in near hurricane conditions (admittedly, they are in a nook beside the house, but it's open on two sides). One of the best purchases I have ever made.

Sturdy and holds two larger kayaks with ease
Needed a rack to hold wider, heavier kayaks. This holds the Crescent LiteTackle II on the bottom and the Crescent CK1 on top easily. They are 75 lbs and 60 lbs respectively. The padded arms are nice and the straps keep the kayaks safely in place. Assembly was very easy and clear instructions were included. You can leave them freestanding (we choose to) or they include hardware to mount into the floor as well. We feel optimistic this will hold up over the long term. So far we are very pleased with the purchase and glad we chose this over cheaper models we were considering.
