Professional Wood Carving Chisel Set - 12 Piece Sharp Woodworking Tools w/Carrying Case - Great for Beginners

Bought as a gift. Recipient was very happy with it.

I would have given a higher mark if they were sharp. They have sturdy shanks and I think the steel may be okay, time and use will tell. They came with a very crude edge. I have already put four to five hours in to sharpening them and am only half complete.

These are a great set for the beginner and professional carver, nice combination of carving tools for different designs or effects and chisels for more aggressive removal of materials. All tools come very sharp. Even though they were not that much money they are holding up very well, no breakage or chipped tips after a few months of use. Would recommend !!

They’re cheap wood carvers. Good to start with but not anything for serious carving. They will need sharpened and you’ll want to remove the metal band on the handle as it’s sharp. Good for what they are at the price point they’re at.

Work great and at a reasonable price.

I bought these chisels 2 years ago in order to learn how to carve. Upon receiving these things, I was annoyed. They were dull, so dull that I now have a permeant reminder from one of the chisels glancing off bass wood. So, I took to the internet in order to learn how to sharpen them. I watched every Mary May episode on YouTube to learn. I have made a set up just like her. These chisels do not stay sharp, they rust in a weather-controlled room, and the products are put together poorly. They re-dull so fast that it is impossible to do anything with them. I am only writing a review now, 2 years later, because I have gone through every possible course of action. I highly recommend putting the money up front and buying proper tools and not cheap-o tools.

Great beginner tools. I’ve had them for a few years and they haven’t chipped and stay sharp for a long time.
