Peace At Last

A great read aloud for Storytime, where children can join in with Mr. Bear, as he tries to find a place to sleep. We are on the 3rd generation of children loving this story. A classic!

Easily my favorite children's book ever, from when it was read to me as a young child through reading it to my own children. The artwork is warm and cozy with small details so the pictures never get boring even after multiple reads. The sound effects are wonderful for reading aloud. Mr. Bear's tired but loving smile at Baby Bear and Mrs. Bear on the last page let us know that everything is just fine. I agree that this is a great pick for very young children just getting into books with actual storylines. There is the right amount of repetition and predictability that young children like, with a funny surprise ending to appeal to that stage of their development. I can recite this book by heart, I've read it so many times, and I give it as a gift for basically every new baby in my life. A wonderful classic.

My whole family loves this book. Cute story and my son (2) is always engaged when reading.

My children and UK grandchildren loved the simple, repetitive story line that they could join in with even before they could read, and also the lovely illustrations with the details that they could pick out. Hopefully my new US grandchild will have a similar experience

i heard a lady read this book to her kid on the train from paris to london. i enjoyed the book when she read it. lol

Gave it to my daughter for her, as yet, unborn son because it was her favorite book. She still has her original one. She was so excited. Now to see what our grandson thinks!!!!

A classic story for use in the early years of.

Ist schon Jahre her, aber die Kinder haben das Buch geliebt. Es gibt viel zu entdecken und die Grafiken sind liebevoll gestaltet. Wir haben das Buch immer wieder lesen müssen. Das Thema, dass es manchmal schwierig ist Ruhe zu finden/zur Ruhe zu kommen ist schön dargestellt. Buch ist auch für deutsche Kinder zu empfehlen - man verdirbt sie dann zumindest nicht mit falschem Englisch ;-). weitere schöne englische (Klein-)Kinderbücher: - Do You Want to Be My Friend? This big book was so worth the wait. Everyone can't wait to see what Mr. Bear will do next. It is a great story for group discussion even with the youngest child being able to participate. A+++
