Grommet Tool Kit, Grommet Setting Tool and 100 Sets Grommets Eyelets with Storage Box (1/2 Inch Inside Diameter)

This is a great quality kit that is useful for all sorts of projects, we used it to make a tarp cover for our chicken run when the rain was lashing. Easy to use, good quality and half the price of a DIY store. Will be kept in the "Fix it box of magic things" in our house.

These do the job well. But what I would say is that you don't get instructions. So print off the image set from the sales page. ANd also get a small bit of cloth to practice on, so you learn the technique.For example, the images don't show clearly whih way up to put the second 'washer-like' ring. It worked best for me bedded in to match the main ring.But the missing star is not for the lack of instructions, but because the cutter punch just doesn't cut the fabric I used.. At all. It's just cotton. I used scissors, which worked well. But far more time consuming.

I wanted to hang a PVC rain protector at the end of my lean to patio cover. It is quite heavy so I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on various eyelets and tools that were for sale, as this one was at the cheaper end. It works perfectly. The cutter is sharp but you still need to use piece of hardwood on a solid base and give it a decent clout with a good hammer. The eyelets fit snuggly through the material so that a good amount of material is clamped. The washers seem a bit light and thin but having said that they work very well. I'm very pleased with it.

Very happy with this set (10mm - 2/5”), and worked for my requirements.Setting tool is very easy to use and sets eyelets easily and neatlyOnly downside is that the hole punch is pretty much useless and blunt, even on a sandwich of two layers of ripstop nylon which contain backing cotton for the eyelet to grip onto. Seems to be similar with all makes of eyelet sets where the punches are more like a safety one - certainly won’t damage anything with it :(Luckily have better punches which I used and job completed easily.

The video is very misleading. Ive set many grommets in my time and I can tell you, cut on hard wood but set them on hard concrete or brick. The cutter is pretty good and probably the best part of this set. The grommet die (base) is double sided. Ive no idea why because if you set it on concrete the bottom side will mark and become unusuable. If you try and set grommets on a wooden base they will likely end up wonky and probably come apart. The grommet insert (male part) is sturdy and gives a pretty good rollover on the edges. Just make sure the material is thick enough. If you try to set this through a single layer of tarp or sheet it will probably rip through. Reinforce with webbing before cutting. The grommets are not stainless steel and will probably rust if you put them outside. For the price, not a bad set. A little bit fiddly. Ive used much pricier sets and you get what you pay for with this little set.

I had been searching for the right toolkit to do the job of improving a large garden furniture cover for some time, and I don't think I could have found an all round better one than this. So easy to use, with clear instructions, and great value for money. Did the job in no time, and from a great supplier.

tools are pretty good for the price. Eyelets a bit thin but seem to work Ok . Quite easy to punch holes punch v.sharp. Set easily. Longevity unknown yet. Material of eyelets not disclosed. Silver metal so could be several. Would be nice to know.
