This knife arrives amazingly sharp, right out of the box. It has solid weight, a nice thick spine, and a firm handle, making it your go-to knife for just about any cutting, slicing or chopping task in your kitchen. This knife is a workhorse, and when finished, is easy to clean. It'll cut through an entire roast effortlessly, or through a rack of beef ribs. I was skeptical that a knife at this price-point would compare to the "famous cutlery brands" - but this champ is right there with the best of them. Skip the fancy, expensive name-brand knives, and try this instead. You'll save a ton of money, and get a great, everyday knife that should last you for years.

I was told by Amazon AI that this cleaver could handle chicken bones - but this is not the case. Cutting leg bones for stock rolled the edge. Smaller rib bones would be okay. Very sharp and great for cutting soft meats, veggies, etc. - but do not hack away like you see some Asian street chefs doing in food travel shows.

This is the sharpest cleaver I have ever had. It handles every cutting and chopping chore with ease. It is well constructed and I am completely satisfied with it.

I purchased this cleaver for my soon-to-be son-in-law for Christmas because he is an avid barbecuer. He's really good at it too! He'd been saying that the cleaver he had was just not right for processing a lot of barbecue. Well, I'm here to tell you that he was overjoyed to get this big, heavy cleaver and said it was just exactly what he was wanting. Yay!

This knife is amazing! I'm an older female, and I do not have the strength in my hands and arms that I used to. This knife allows me to cut up my sweet potatoes, and my Delconte squash properly!

It's a solid knife. I purchased it mainly to cut meat with as my other good knives lacked the robust size and weight required to do the task easily. It cuts meat a lot better than the other types of knives I have and it works well enough. After taking the knife out of the package I immediately washed it and the sponge I used was cut up into pieces. That was a good sign.
