Review: My yard looks better than it ever has - Keeping the yard green without wasting water is a major struggle in the Texas heat, and I had mostly given up on anything other than just keeping the grass barely alive through the summer. Fortunately, this year I discovered the Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller and decided to give it a try. In the process, I also 'upgraded' all my sprinkler heads to these R-VAN models so I could more easily match the water flow to what the soil is actually able to absorb. The results have been amazing! And, I can't believe I'm saying that in July. :) The combination of the Rachio and these sprinkler heads has actually resulted in using less water than I typically do by quite a bit - while keeping my yard looking greener than it ever has. You have to keep in mind that these are low-flow heads (which is what you want for saving water), so the water won't run down the street - but you will need to run them quite a bit longer on each zone. These also provide more of a stream instead of a mist, which means less water will evaporate - but it still covers the area extremely evenly. They are also unbelievably easy to adjust without any tools at all. At the end of the day, I don't have anything negative to say about them at all. We tried the competing Hunter sprinkler heads and felt that these were quite a bit nicer for about the same price. Overall, I would definitely recommend them if you're looking to save water while still having a nice-looking lawn. Review: Like these better than Hunter MP Rotators - I have had nothing but trouble with Hunter MP Rotators. When they work, they are ok, but they get stuck and do not rotate many times. A water pressure issue, maybe??? I tried these and they work great. They do not have any problems rotating, they are easier to adjust (no tool required). They do put out more water, however, and do require a little more water pressure. Too many of these nozzles in a zone with marginal water pressure and the heads will not pop up.

Easy way to convert from standard pop-up to rotary heads.
These nozzle heads worked great for me. Very easy to install - just unscrew the old nozzle, remove the old filter screen then screw in new nozzle with filter screen attached. Very easy to adjust both angle of coverage and reach. I have 1 zone of Orbit pop-ups and these nozzles fit just as well as they did on my zone with Rainbird heads. Very nice coverage. I’m quite pleased with these so far.

Better than buying it at the local hardware store store.
Exactly what we were looking for. Great price!

Tricky but work well
I replaced my build beds with these and they are pretty adjustable and so far have proven to work well. I will say the directions on adjusting them seemed off but in the end I figured it out and they defiantly do the trick.

Water efficient and reliable
I like that they spray streams of water and rotate. They make more efficient use of water (less evaporation) and better pattern of coverage than most.

I am completely satisfied with these sprinkler heads
I am completely satisfied with these sprinkler heads. I does takes a few days or watering cycles for them to loosen up and work to they're potential. I hoped they would have the heavier stream that the regular rotary heads do, but that's Ok. the lighter stream vs the ease of adjustability is an acceptable compromise. I live in the Southern California area and water my lawn in the evening to cool the property as well as water the lawn. With the older "mister" type heads, you could actually watch the most of the water evaporate instead of watering the yard. With these sprinkler heads the yard the water goes where you want it and not into the air. I bought enough of these to finish out my from yard with the standard rotary heads. I will buy more to redo the rear yard with these. Just a note: I ran the mister type for 3 minutes a night per station Monday thru Friday. I run my rotary sprinklers now at 1 minute a night and the yard looks even better. I was not paid at all for this review. As a matter of fact, I paid for these sprinkler heads. Since I bought 2 different sizes both the 1724 & the 1318 I'm going to copy & paste this to the other sprinkler head. I do recommend these sprinkler heads.

That Which Works Is Great
The max arc I could get is about 120 degrees so useless in places I desired more (often 180 degrees) but less than 360 degrees from their other model. The control of the arc is very precise and the misting is minimal so over spray is non-existent. Installation and adjustment are easy. You may or may not need to push down on it to adjust the arc. About 25 percent of the ones I received are duds. I would mentally add 25 percent to the already expensive price when considering the purchase price. Before deeming one a dud, you should run the sprinkler with no head to clear the line. After that, pull up on the sprinkler head to clear it. If you still get minimal output, you have a dud.
