Totally defective. Was put together already, temperature plug was not in plastic bag and was installed. I am guessing someone else returned it and they resold it. Not very trustworthy.

This is THE set you need if sore, achy muscles are giving you grief. As someone who cannot tolerate most medications, including pain medications, I'm left seeking alternatives. This set is so well made. The bamboo sticks are all perfectly finished with no rough edges or spots to irritate the skin. The warmer has adjustable heat, and the sticks come to full, highest temperature within about ten minutes. The sticks retain their heat decently, and the bag's insulation means you can pop them back in an warm them back up a bit if they're cooling during use. There was no chemical odor or residue on anything. This would make a fantastic gift for someone.

When I received this set I thought the bamboo was bare but sanded very smooth and buffed. I'm not sure about that as there was an initial chemical smell when heating the first couple of times. I could smell it both on the bamboo and in the bag so I'm not sure if it was a coating on the bamboo or just the heating element being used the first couple of times. After the first few uses the smell was gone. It was probably the heating element as it's typical for them to give off chemical smells when new, but I can't be certain. Just something to be aware of. I am very happy with this set, I've used it over a dozen times so far and while I do wish the bamboo retained heat a bit longer, I still prefer them to my stones in several applications. They seem to help relieve tension and mild aches quite well. As another reviewer said, I think these work better than ibuprofen and definitely better for you. This kit seems to be very good quality that I'm thinking will last a good long time but of course, only time will tell if that's true. If it stands up to a lot of use over time, definitely worth the cost of something goes south, I'll update my review.
