Anet A8 2004 LCD Smart Display Screen Controller Module with 5Pin Flexible Flat Ribbon Cable for Anet A8 Reprap Mendel I3 3D Printer Kit Accessory

I needed a display for my new printer design and found this product. Although a previous review said that it was not for the A8 printer. I tested it on my existing Anet A8 printer and it was an exact fit and replacement. I would recommend this product for its great price and quality. My new design uses the A8 controller board and this is the perfect compliment. Thank you, great product.

Good replacement for the one that failed on my Anet a8

I have ordered and used several of these units in experimentation and blown them by accidents. But all have arrived in proper working order. All work with Arduino as long as the digital lines are defined properly in the pre-processor statements.One issue I found is that these displays can be susceptible to digital line noise even with the short ribbon cable supplied, resulting in corrupted operation which can be cleared only by resetting the controller. In the Anet printer, as a replacement it should not be an issue. If it is, problem can be resolved by building a hysteresis input noise immune receiver that is mounted on a small board plugged into the display with the cable plugged in to the adapter board. I used a SN74AHC245N Octal transceiver. Works great!Buttons are an analog voltage divider chain. Because of this, the A.D input of the Arduino I am using can easily read the divider voltages. A side advantage is that intermediate voltages are produced if two or more buttons are pushed, increasing combinations. Recommended.

So nice to be able to quickly recover form a problem -- my old display became unreadable when sitting in front of it. This quickly solved the problem.,

I bought this because it appeared to be a replacement for the display on the Alunar Anet A8 M605 - it is not. The buttons and LCD do not line up with the holes in the mounting panel.
