A Raised toilet seat that will ease some pain.
This is what you need for those surgeries that make it difficult to get up and down from a sitting position. This Carex E-Z lock raised toilet seat with the raised handle arms is working perfectly for me. I'll start with the Pros. Pros: It has a sturdy construction, fits my elongated toilet, the handles are in a good position for pushing yourself up, the seat is raised high, the adjustment to tighten the seat in place works well. For the price (47 bucks) very well worth it and it will last a very long time for when you need it again. With this seat, you do not need to take off the original toilet seat and lid that is already on your toilet. Leave your old seat on and just place the E-Z seat onto the bowl and tighten the adjustment. With some raised toilet seat extensions you have to remove the original seat and lid and attach to the riser. But not this one. No extra steps or work. Cons: The seat is hard. But lets face it, it wasn't made to sit there very long. It's made to do your business and get out of there. And guys, you'll just have to tuck it between your legs if your sitting there and have to pee. This is a great item to have on hand when needed for yourself or family member. Furthermore I would also recommend for comfort after surgery is a Hip Kit. Even if you did not have hip surgery, a hip kit can help you with the painful job of getting yourself dressed. Type in Hip Kit in the product search box or area take a look at the items that help you get your socks on, 24" metal shoe horn , help to lift your leg, a 32" grabber to pick up things you drop and are unable to bend and pick up and hook to help pull your pants and a long handled sponge for washing your back or back side.

Necessity for knee surgery
Carex Ez lock raised toilet seat is an amazing product. I had a total knee replacement surgery. This is just what I needed when I had to go to the bathroom. My knee was in alot of pain and I had issues getting up from the toilet after surgery. This toilet top raised my toilet top by five inches and it has handles on the side as well. I love this product. It is easy to access it on the toilet to lock it to your own personal toilet in the front. It is easy to put on and off my own toilet. Another thing I enjoy is it is very easy to clean after each use of the toilet. I recommend this product to anyone that has knee surgery and it is very stable on top of my personal toilet too. The price was really good too. Thanks for making such a remarkable product.

Very good product
I purchased this because of knee surgery it works well. Arm rests made it especially helpful. If you have a senior in your home I suggest you by this, if purchasing a taller commode is not in your budget. Great for older ones and not difficult to put on. I'm a senior citizen and it was very simple to install.

Best of show...
My wife had a partial knee replacement recently and we ended up with three toilet seat boosters -- one that just fits in the bowl on top (loosely, so it doesn't feel secure), one the hospital sent her home with that is weak, flimsy, and locates your butt over the front part of the bowl, which is messy and inconvenient (it's an actual "chair" with inserts) and this one. This toilet seat is by far the best. Arms to make getting up easier. A screw lock so it does NOT move on your bowl, period. Good height. Good butt placement. Easy to clean or move (the screw opens or closes in seconds if you need to move it). Literally exactly what you need, nothing you don't, and it fits in a fairly narrow toilet space even WITH the arms. I'm getting a second one as I write this, to cover (so to speak) an upstairs and downstairs toilet as she gets more mobile. Totally worth it!

Horrible design - beware unreturnable!
Bought this for myself after suffering a leg injury that made using the toilet while on crutches very difficult. In theory this fits the bill - raises the seating surface to a comfortable height, has handles to help sitting down and getting up from the toilet and is easy enough to fix. It wasn't until I opened the package once it arrived that I understood what would be a huge problem that wasn't evident from the pictures. The hole in the center is not big enough to accommodate the area required for going both No. 1 and 2, if you catch my drift. To make matters worse, there is a kinda 'spout' in the front lip which I guess is there to make No.1 go into the toilet but does the opposite!! - there's barely any 'slope' for any thing to flow back rather it'll make any liquid flow out onto the floor!! The handles seem reassuring until it is time to shift weight for cleaning up or getting up and then the 'easy' assembly shows how flimsy it is in terms of staying attached to the toilet. Overall a horrible design for a product which should be much better thought out given the intended customers are already physically challenged - the elderly or injured. I'd suggest getting some other kind of toilet seat without the built in handle but one which raises height without sacrificing on ergonomics. As for support, you're better off getting something which stabilizes on the floor or attached securely to a wall than attached to the toilet. Oh by the way the product is unreturnable even if unused. So a total waste of $52 bucks for me.

Lives Up to Its Advertising
I like everything about this unit. I previously borrowed one very similar from a friend and kept it for a year without any problems. In fact, I liked it so well that I decided to get my own. It arrives completely assembled, ready to put it on the toilet. It fits my elongated toilet perfectly. I want to respond to a couple of earlier reviews. The seat is very stable as long as the pressure on both sides is equal. If one leans on only one side or the other, the seat will move in that direction. I am a female, size 14-16 U.S. The handles fit me perfectly but I can see that larger users would have difficulty. However, I believe that the width of the handles can be adjusted somewhat, but I haven't had the need to try it.

The raised toilet seat fits my toilet perfectly. Perfect for after total knee replacement surgery. The handles are of great help when getting up from the toilet. Very easy to install and remove.

We purchased this toilet seat for my elderly father to use in our home when he visits. It is so easy to install and remove. Better then the one at his retirement residence. Highly recommend

Does not fit. Advertised it fits round, elongated and most standard toilets. It does not.
