Yardfitter AutoReel Retractable Hose Reel (60 Feet x 5/8")

Great idea for a hose caddy. Mounted very easily and is very sturdy. My only problem with the product is that when it gets close to the end of retracting, it stops. It gets stuck. Pull-release. Pull-release. Pull-release.... No further movement. I have to pull the hose (and this is the one that came with it) all the way out and slowly feed it back into the caddy, standing right there. I have to nudge the hose guides to keep moving. Inconvenient. And frustrating after a long day of gardening. UPDATE May 18, 2019 I originally gave this product a 3 star review, but I am changing it to1 star. This product was a waste of over $100.....twice. Very frustrating. VERY. The hose simply does not retract all the way, no matter how much guidance we give it, no matter if we pull the hose out all the way (which we should not have to do) and then try to get it to retract. On both of our Yardfitter AutoReel Hose Reels, the best we can hope for is having 6 feet of hose left hanging outside the caddy. We’d like a refund and we’d like to see some truth in advertising. We’d sure like to hear from the manufacturer.

By far the best hose reel I've ever owned. The beauty is in the simplicity....I pull it out to water the garden, or top off the pool. To retract just pull back slightly and it rewinds (don't just let it go though, walk the hose back to the unit for safety...made that mistake.) Best part is not having to listen to the wife when I leave the hose lying in the yard, the previous reel I had was terrible, and I'd generally just leave it out. Happy wife, happy life! Mounting it was really easy, I went to the local hardware store and bought a ground stake and 4 x 4 and had is set up in 20 minutes. This was what worked for me, but you can mount it to any flat surface with the right tools. The build quality appears to be excellent, the case, hose and nozzle seem pretty sturdy. Very happy with the purchase, I'll probably order another one to mount on the dock for hosing off the boat after a nice day on the water.

Works well. It leaked a bit right away from where the hose connects to the reel, just had to take it apart and tighten the hose clamp. You have to be gentle when reeling back in. Overall I'm happy with it.

First of all, I feel that this product is built well and is very solid. That being said, I have an issue with the hose guild, going from right to left, only going half way before changing directions. This only happens when I am retracting the hose back into the case. This causes all sorts of issue, such as the hose only reeling to the right side of the case, not being able to retract all of the hose before hitting the inside of the case and causing kinking issues when pulling the hose out. Since I purchased the item in August of last year, I am unable to return the product, so test the item when you receive it.

need to protect it from sun mine fell off post just over two years otherwise it was a great product just not meant for outside

Nice design and easy installation, but started to leak from hose enclosure during FIRST use.Had to send back for refund.

Lasted a few years but never retracted the hose without a fight. Finally stopped altogether. Took it apart to see if I could adjust the moving piece that makes sure the hose loads on the reel correctly but no luck. I have another auto hose reel that I’ve had for over 15 years and it still works flawlessly. If you’re big on being aggravated, this is the hose reel for you! It’s going in the recycle bin on Thursday.

Put this up a few weeks ago and it works exactly as advertised. Installation took about 20 minutes (I had to install into masonry), but its absolutely rock solid now. My placement is on my roof deck in NYC, so I didn't need a super long hose but needed something with good pressure and a high quality case. This fit the bill. I pull it out to water my plants and when I am done, I give it a yank and it auto retracts into its case. Quickly said goodbye to my old hose reel
