Lethal Weapon (Director's Cut & Theatrical) (4K Ultra HD + Digital)

Good movie! The 4K transfer is very good. At one point the disc froze (not uncommon). I removed the disc from the player, breathed on the play side of the disc, and lightly wiped once from inside of the disc to the outside with a microfiber cloth, rotating the disc and continuing this until I finished the entire disc. I put the disc back in the player, and no more freezing. Just a light application of breath condensation, and light lateral wipes fixed the issue. There were no visible scratches, fingerprints, etc on the disc to cause the freezing of the played back image, but this cleaning fixed it.

The audio and video quality of this 4k disc is fantastic!

I have always loved the Lethal Weapon movies that started with Lethal Weapon that also was one of the first cop buddy movies that really changed the industry. You have a great cast in Danny Glover and Mel Gibson, and Gary Busey, 3 of the main actors then add director Richard Donner and you have a great beginning. From the first scene where the character Amanda Hunsaker jumps to her death crashing onto the roof of a car parked below. I have always been very impressed with Donners opening like a fillm he did in 1980 named Inside Moves a forgotten gem of Donner with another great cast that has a very similar opening with a person jumping from a building to the roof of a car parked below. In both films the camera follows the actors fall until they smash onto the car while the sound is overwhelming in both. Weapon also looks more brilliant than ever and I prefer the directors cut that has so many scenes that improve the story through they add to the character development These scenes were in versions of DVDs but never released on blu ray. Lethal Weapon 4K version is amazing and I hope when the other three films are released of 4K include the directors cuts.

If you’re a fan of lethal weapon get this. The sound is amazing, everything had been remastered, plus the Eric Clapton riffs shine with this copy.

The disc includes both the theatrical and extended (director’s) cut. In audio options you can choose to watch the movie with remastered sound, or with original sound (only available for the theatrical cut). As far as I can tell, the extended cut is only 3-4 scenes during the first 20 minutes or so of the first movie. If you are only interested in seeing these scenes, you can find them all on YouTube. The picture quality is obviously great. The special feature about the chemistry between Gibson and Glover is quite short, doesn’t offer much in the way of interesting insight, and features barely any of the cast.

Lethal Weapon es un clásico indiscutible del cine de acción ochentero que marcó el inicio de una de las franquicias más queridas del género buddy cop. La química entre Mel Gibson (como el impredecible Martin Riggs) y Danny Glover (como el veterano Roger Murtaugh) es el alma de la película. Con dirección firme de Richard Donner, acción sólida y momentos de humor bien dosificados, sigue siendo igual de entretenida décadas después de su estreno. La restauración en 4K es sobresaliente. Escaneada a partir del negativo original, la imagen ofrece un gran salto en definición, nitidez y manejo del grano cinematográfico.
