My basement took on water and at first I was trying to pull up carpet so I could flip it upside down to make it easier to cut. Then a friend in the carpet biz suggested I try his carpet knife so I could cut thru the top down to the concrete floor in my basement. With some downward pressure, it cut like butter. So I went online to find a tool like his and found this one. Different brand, but exactly the same result. Good value, sturdy carpet knife!

If you want a sharp knife, with a great feel, this is the one you want. Absolutely the sharpest knife I’ve ever used. Be super cautious changing the blades.
