These clips appear to have a very sturdy hinge and strong spring for their size. On the sample I measured, the maximum opening between the curved jaws was 9.5mm and directly behind them was 10.5mm. I have riveted them to fabricated aluminum brackets to attach a thin piece of aluminum flashing to a patio heater heater deflector shield, and they hold it quite securely, yet allow for easy removal. I am very pleased with the performance of these clips.

These mini clamps are easy to use and don’t mar the surface. I used them to assemble hand rail on a model railroad bridge. The basswood is not fragile but excessive force will dent it. These clamps have just the right pressure to hold the pieces while the glue dries without denying or maring the wood.

I work with small delicate objects, gluing them together. These clamps have too much clamping pressure and crushed my work pieces. While they may work well for you, I can't use them.

Some reviews suggested they were too strong. My experience was opposite. I was trying to hold loose ends of a jeep top together so they wouldn't flap. Nope.Nice clips, but I probably need larger ones for my purpose.

I used these to hold copper together so I can solder. They are thick enough to not bend and are sturdy when clamping two pieces together. They do not get hot and we're a great value! They are great for holding small pieces together.
