Very sturdy and well made
I was very pleased with this windsock. Obvious quality. I live near an ocean so the wind is variable both direction and speed. I thought it would be nice to have a wind sock so I could just look out the window and see what the wind is doing. I also thought the neighbors would appreciate it. I wanted a real windsock like they have at airports. The bright orange is easy to see. I knew I would have to learn to read the stripes so I would know how hard the wind was blowing. To me that was part of the fun. I even bought a special mast with a spinning ring so the sock could spin freely in the wind. I really really did not want one of the yard decoration kind with butterflies, flowers, and such. I was ready to put this up in the yard but then my wife saw the 30” bright orange thing I was about to install and she said no way. I still wanted a windsock so I bought one with butterflies on it. But I am keeping this orange one. Maybe some day . Sorry for the long sad story. As to the actual review, this is a good product. I can’t say I would buy it again though.

Very well made
This windsock is awesome! We've had this one for several years. It was posted high on a corner fence post of a pasture. It held up in 70 mile + clocked wind speeds. Also, it survived a tornado w/flying colors. The reflective bands are great at night. Just recently, it FINALLY gave out. The orange was a little faded. We were surprised it lasted this long, considering how much wind we get out in the open w/slopes. It held up in subzero temps, hot summer sun, & took the outdoor elements that you'd be proud of. Recently, I purchased a new one w/the reassurance that it will last a couple years. My husband arranged some type of hook that kept it spinning in any direction the wind blew it.

Worth the money
In a windy, open area, approx April thru Feb in the U.S. Midwest. The bright orange faded in the summer sun - so the fluorescent brightness lasted about 6 months, but it was still a very visible orange until the fabric finally shredded in a high winds storm. The reflective strips lasted longer than the fabric - still very reflective at the end of the windsock's life. The connecting strap and ring were also still in excellent shape. It was good enough for us to order grandpa another:) Update 2/26/2024: Second one lasted a year, same as before! Ordering a third. It's worth $13 a year.

Which way is the wind blowing?
My hubby loves keeping track of the weather. (He works outdoors and it comes in handy for his job.) He mounted this about 10 feet up on the same pole as his weather station sensor. It’s holding up well, is colorfast and hasn’t faded, it’s large enough to see from the windows of the house. We recommend this product.

Always wanted one and so glad I finally bought it.
I like the fact that this windsock is VERY sturdy and doesn't seem like it would rip easily. We just had a serious storm come thru with 60-70mph winds and it did nothing to the windsock! And another PLUS, is that it has reflective stripes on it so you can see it when your headlights shine towards it. Wish t wouldn't have waited so long to get this It's inexpensive, but NOT at all cheaply made! What are you waiting for? Order yours today!

The 30-inch wind sock looked good and lasted for about 2 years.
I would give this an overall rating of 3.5, but I've not tried any other wind socks for comparison. Polyester is typically the right polymer material for outdoor use, so I was expecting this to be more durable. The look and function were very good for about 1 year, but it faded faster than I expected in an area with occasional moderate wind and partial sun. It just tore this week, which is the 2nd year I've had it out. This was a particularly windy week, so that probably did it in. However, I was skeptical about the durability and bought 2 wind socks, so I have a replacement that I hope will last as long or longer. The picture shows the windsock after 2 years of use and the unused one. I also bought a decent stainless steel flag pole and a set of rings with good bearings to go with this, which prevented the wind sock from catching and tearing. Hopefully that made it last longer, but UV light really seems to degrade this windsock fast.

To be fair, I have not found any windsock to last longer than 2-3 months. Sure it's windy here but not stupidly. Our large flag (5' x 10') lasts over 6 months. However, this windsock is certainly bright and the 3M reflective stripes are nice at night. Lastly, WTF, I bought mine in September for $37. Now it is $134!!!! Worse than toilet paper!
