My girlfriend is a devoted fan of both Scrabble and Roz Chast, so buying her this was an absolute no-brainer. If you know someone who fits that description, they’ll probably like this book, too.

A set of little poems with Roz Chast cartoons explaining the meanings of all the two-letter words officially recognized for use in Scrabble. Entertaining.

Always makes me laugh
One of my most-beloved little tomes. Always makes me laugh (I think BOTH Stephin Merritt and Roz Chast are national treasures); I sometimes also use '101' and William Stieg's C-D-B! in ESL workshops, with gratifying results.

sweet and funny present for my Sister, with whom I share a couple of very apropos guilty pleasures: we are Works with Friends addicts, We love the Roz Chazt drawings in the NEW YORKER MAG. This book fit the Bill

Roz Chast's illustrations makes this book a winner!
I mostly got this because Roz Chast is such a wonderful New Yorker cartoonist, and because I needed my husband to speed up his learning curve of 2 letter words for Scrabble. Mission accomplished!

Roz Chast drawings are always terrific!! But the writing here is just ok. (not hers) Roz is at her best when she is doing her own writing to go with her amazing drawings! The only two collaborations she did that I have enjoyed are with Steve Martin and Esther Cohen.

I am a huge fan of Merritt. Not sure that this is essential to enjoying the book, but it probably helps. I found it perfectly charming.
