I now use these every day. Great but *not flat*.
I didn't budget for these; they came up on a really great sale so i got them. Everything is fine, and the main selling point for me is the phono preamp, which means i don't have to drag out any hifi gear; just get my turntable and off to the races. Easy to use. More than loud enough for me, and decent sounding when they're not cranked. Input connections are all great; it's what you would want from modern bluetooth bookshelf speakers. I wish you could flip R/L L/R so that if you wanted to place the speaker with the plug on the left side of your desk/shelf, you could just do it. But the right speaker has the power so you always have to place it on the right (if you care about that). One thing i will say is that manufacturers calling something "reference monitor" is ONLY accurate if the freq response is truly FLAT (or as close to it as possible, given the budget). As others have noted, these speakers and NOT flat; they're slightly hyped at both ends. Idk if this is by design for less than prosumers, or if it's due to limitation of the components (again, at this price range). But anyone looking for truly flat monitoring should look at different speakers. Personally i do have great reference monitors, hooked to a great power amp. These klipsch speakers sit on top of them lol. Just super easy to use your phone or one of your laptops with the BT speakers (i work remote alot).

Awesome highs and mids. Clear sound seperation, GREAT for movies, pretty good for music
For the price these speakers are amazing. They sound great right out of the box, super easy to set up and they arent too big and bulky. I work as a stage tech and monitor technician for a production company and have an associates in audio engineering so i have a decent ear, but am by no means an expert in audio. For my ears, the r51pms are great. The distinct seperation of sounds/instruments is REALLY good; very evident when watching movies. Ive seen Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 100 times... ive never noticed that in the scene in the beginning where harry is discussing Sirius Blacks' whereabouts with arthur that percy weasily is magically pouring coffee in the background UNTIL watching that film using these speakers. I could clearly hear liquid pouring on the left side of the soundstage and then for the first time looked in that direction and saw that! It was kind of mind blowing lol For music id say they are ok. Im used to hearing music through a DB Technologies Vio 20 box line array rig flown in the air and through 8 massive Vio subs mixed well using a m32 in large venues at work; so im kind of a harsh judge, but at home these sound great when paired with the klipsch r120sw. If your main use of these will be to listen to music then i would DEFINITELY recommend a sub woofer... even if you cant afford a sub maybe opt for the r41pms instead and take that money you save and add it towards a sub. The r51pms dont have enough low end output for me personally. Even the r100sw wasnt enough, but when i got the 120sw it made everything come together. Im EXTREMELY satisfied with the audio quality with the 51pms and the 120sw its a match made in heaven. My ONLY complaint is the remote.... by itself its perfectly fine BUT for some reason i guess it operates on the same frequency as my tv remote (insignia qled 55 inch) and when i turn down the speakers IT REWINDS MY SHOWS/VIDEO!!!! SO FRUSTRATING so i have to press down on the tv remote to take it off the scroll bar of the content to like the subtitle setting or whatever it is for that specific application, THEN turn down the speakers, other wise the klipsch remote will rewind my content. Super super annoying.... i guess i have to get a universal remote or something idk. As far as the build qaulity... its klipsch. They are nice lol. I personally dont really care how a speaker looks if it sounds good, but even i gotta admit the copper drivers look nice. I keep the fabric mesh covers (which is nice and thick and uses magnets) on them so they are blacked out in the background when watching movies and i dont see them but they are pleasant to look at with or without the covers. The "wood" grain laminent is nice too. Gotta give klipsch a 5/5 on the build quality. All in all i would give them a 4 out of 5 (just bc of lack of bass frequency) but when paired with a sub they are an easy 5 out of 5. Definitely recommend! Especially for watching movies

Best powered speakers I've ever heard
Snagged these on sale and I have to say that for that money I don't think anything else will come close. Even at the original full price I think they're worth the money. I've had these on my wishlist for a long time now and I'm not disappointed. I will say first that the lack of any sort of crossover control is something that could be improved in a future version. I would be tempted to pay a little bit extra for that flexibility. I definitely like the strong bass at low volume. That's a really sweet feature. I've previously owned a Klipsch subwoofer, that used to clear off all the dust in the room anytime there was an explosion in a soundtrack, so I'm used to their quality which really helped with the purchase decision for me. That said, the first thing that I noticed when listening for the first time was the phenomenal bass response. Are you kidding me - it's like there's a subwoofer in the room. That's why I made the comment about an adjustable crossover. The bass isn't overpowering at all. It does take a little trial and error to find the right distance from the wall for the best bass, of course. I'd like to see a future version with equally good bass but front ported if possible. I realize that would require a larger cabinet but it would give the option to wall mount. I have them in my home office in a spare bedroom for an idea of room size. My last bookshelf size speakers were Polks powered by a high current receiver and they didn't have this much punch. I absolutely love the bass. This is an apartment so I'm afraid to really crank them up. I think I'd be in trouble pretty fast if I did. The rest of the sound is great too. I was afraid of getting listening fatigue from the horn tweeters but OMG. I would definitely not call these overbright. They're wonderful to listen to. For example stuff by Sleeping Pandora sounds really nicely mixed when I listen on these. It can be difficult to make it sound good on inexpensive systems. "Sorrow", by Pink Floyd is breathtaking because that bass solo at the beginning really shines with these. My other listening option is a pair of Byerdynamic studio headphones and these are every bit as enjoyable. I get goosebumps. I don't know if I believe in "break in" for speakers but as good as they sound initially it'll only get better. Bluetooth was super easy to connect out of the box. At first the tablet didn't find them from across the room but after bringing it a lot closer, doing the pairing, it was fine after that from anywhere that I would expect to be able to use Bluetooth. I like being able to basically use my tablet as a music system remote for queuing up music and stuff. I know it doesn't sound as good as wired but when I want higher quality I just plug it in to the headphone jack. I'm using the USB for sound in Windows and Linux and that was seamless to set up. The quality is phenomenal. I've been collecting vinyl from independent bands on Bandcamp and hopefully will be able to get a turntable soon, so the preamp was as much a selling point for me as the Bluetooth. I really appreciate all the connection options on these. It's a main reason why they were at the top of the list for powered speakers that I was considering. Highly recommend. 10/10

Incredible speakers for PC! (probably other stuff too)
Background: Originally I purchased a $30 soundbar for my gaming computer. Just something to hold me over until I could splurge on something better. It had high reviews and the only real complaint I had with it is the volume. Since it was powered by the USB port it was limited and my volume settings were 100% or off. I was researching speakers for gaming and these never came up, but a YouTuber video that rated some computer speakers had their top choice as Klipsch R-51M as his top choice, but they were not powered and needed an amp. The price of both those was the same as these, and still wouldn't get the blue-tooth support. After many more hours of research I couldn't find anything close to the quality for the price. The blue-tooth is a big bonus for me since I listen to my audio book while on the treadmill and I was using a battery powered mobile speaker for that. Connecting (Inputs): Hooking these up was simplicity itself. They support phono, optical digital, aux, and the all important USB. The 41's don't support optical digital according to manual, I got the R-51PM so I have to take their word for it. One thing I wasn't expecting was the remote, for the computer I can mute and control the volume from my keyboard so I didn't think it would be a benefit to me. The remote allows the switching between inputs as well, allowing me to switch over to blue-tooth and back to USB for computer. Otherwise I would need to press on the volume dial located on the back of the speaker, behind my monitor and against the wall every time I want to use the blue-tooth or switch back. Quick note, after hooking up these speakers I didn't get any audio even though my computer recognized them and set them as audio output. These speakers don't auto switch between inputs. The color of the LED you can slightly see through the removable mesh indicates which input speakers are currently on. The USB is white and soon as I switch it over beautiful sound filled the air. Volume: Just WOW! At first it was disappointingly low. After a little trial and error I found the volume control on my PC/Keyboard would only have the range up to what ever volume the speakers are set too. I like this, I set the speaker volume to just short of rattling the walls, less than their full volume. Then when I adjust the volume from my computer it will only reach up to the volume the speakers are set too. This should keep me from startling my neighbors awake. I actually find myself using the volume control on the computer/keyboard now, finding the sweet spot for each situation and mood. For immersion in games, volume and quality of sound is essential. Some cheaper speakers would probably have been adequate. There are some highly rated brands a step down and I'm not an audiophile, but having speakers that are more than what I need now means they'll give me that extra quality and sound while meeting or exceeding my future needs. Conclusion: For the price they are not the best solution for everyone, especially if you don't spend some time on the computer playing games and/or listening to music. If you can splurge for these, it will be an investment you can reap the rewards from for decades, unlike computers and even monitors which need regular upgrading to stay relevant, quality speakers will still be quality and usable for as long as you own them. I have no regrets getting them and glad I did splurge. They have really good sales if you can wait and are patient.

Great sound, frustrating remote
I'm in my 50s, and have never owned a "good" audio system. I've owned a few decent sound bars, and still use a Bose Soundlink now and then, which have all gotten me by over the years. As a teenager in the 1980s, my parents bought me a cheap "stereo rack system" from Walmart. It sounded horrible, of course, but at time I thought it was great. Years later, I tore into those floor speakers and was disappointed to see that they were just 6X9 speakers literally glued to plywood and covered with some kind of spongy material. Last year, I inherited quite a few old records -- a lot of old jazz and classics. To play them, I bought an Audio-Technica AT-LP60X based on its solid reviews and the fact that I'm essentially a beginner in this whole LP thing. My mother enthusiastically dug up a bunch of my old albums from the 1980s, which included The Cars, Prince, Michael Jackson's Thriller, and a Dire Straits record with an embarrassing amount of scratches on it. Now I needed speakers. After a lot of research, I ordered these Klipsch R-51PM speakers and a Klipsch R-100SW subwoofer. Between the turntable (with built-in pre-amp), the Klipsch speakers and sub, and some decent quality cables to connect everything together, I have about $800 invested. I wanted to keep all the wires to a minimum, as the gear is set up on our TV stand under the television and maintaining a clean, uncluttered look is a priority. Thankfully, the AT-LP60X came with the cable I needed to hook right up with the Klipsch speaker (a 3.5mm to RCA stereo cable). I then connected the Klipsch R-100SW subwoofer to the powered speaker using a FosPower subwoofer cable I purchased on Amazon (the sub does not come with any cables). I eagerly started a record (my old Cars album) and -- nothing happened. It took a while for me to realize I had to use the accompanying remote control to switch the input over to "phono," at which time everything came together musically. After a lot of playing around with the subwoofer location and experimenting with the gain, crossover, etc., things really started to hum. Now that they're broken in a couple of days, it sounds pretty amazing. While these speakers put out some decent bass, comparable to my Samsung soundbar/sub and heaps better than my old Bose speaker, having that sub-woofer is a must in my opinion. It allows you to crank things up and thump the house or, what I enjoy most of all, keeping the volume low while having dinner, etc., but still enjoying that full-bodied sound with bass. I have never experienced that before and its very nice. The Bluetooth was easy to connect and is great for iPhone use. I ditched my sound bar/sub and ran an optical cable behind the wall from my TV into the powered speaker (this feature is a primary reason I was originally attracted to these Klipsch speakers). While you have the ability to connect to the TV via Bluetooth, I like the idea of using the optical cable for reliability. It works really well. The big downside -- and for me it's a big one -- is the remote control. While the remote itself is attractive and intuitive to use, you have to point it DIRECTLY at the speaker for it to work. So you can't be sitting in another part of the room and use the remote for volume. Even sitting directly in front of the system, I have to hold the remote a bit at an angle and aim it right at the speaker -- and even then it can be bit unresponsive and laggy. I don't really know any way around this, though, unless there is some kind of universal remote that may do a better job. All in all -- these speakers are a great investment. I can now play my records, or stream my music over Bluetooth (Spotify), or watch TV with sound that is way more clear than my old sound bar system. I just wish the remote was a bit more responsive.

Klipsch R-51 speakers
I am very happy with these Klipsch R-51 speakers. I am not an audophile so I wasn't looking for a $20,000 system. Looking to replace an old TV soundbar, old amp without BT connection, and a pair of really old stereo speakers. These do it all, sound great, and do not over power my living room. The blue tooth range reaches beyond 20 feet through walls. I do not plan to add a subwoofer, the lows on these speakers are just fine for what I need. Built-in amp, great connectivity small package, great value, American made, who could ask for more?

Excellent Build and Design. Sounds spectacular.
I purchased a turntable bundle that came with a pair of desk top speakers. Was not satisfied with the "entry-level" speakers so I shopped around for a more serious pair. I was attracted to these speakers due to very positive reviews and demos. These speakers raised the listening level experience, really brings out the sound quality and clarity I was looking for, making me feel like the artist is right in front of me, performing live. Less than 60 or 50% volume is very clean but higher volume can make the bass struggle so I added the Klipsch R100-SW and what a game changer that is. The build quality is excellent and impressive. Quite a heavy speaker, a solid design. Installation is easy. Was appreciative of optical cable included so I was able to plug into the TV for better cinematic viewing. Also included bluetooth connection. Built-in amplifier makes these a more powerful pair without the addition of a receiver, less clutter. Used in the living room. Will need to purchase 30" speaker stands. I highly recommend these speakers. Manufactured in China. Other speaker brands considered: Audioengine, Edifier, JBL, Yamaha.

Wonderful Bookshelf Sound Box Pair
I was looking for a simple Bluetooth stereo bookshelf sound box for my new turntable (first timer) that meets my needs. After numerous searches and reading reviews, I found Klipsch makes great-looking bookshelf sound boxes. Also, I don't need a party sound generator; I need something that can fill up my living room with sound if needed. I am surprised by the connection options it came with. I loved the manual corded line to my turntable (It can connect with Bluetooth, too, but I liked the old way). Also, tried out the Bluetooth with my cell phone. The range is awesome, 50 ft. I make flawless connections with open or closed doors. It does not have a great bass, but the beats are nice enough to feel. My living room is between medium to large size and quite open space, and I placed the box on one side of the living area so that it can cover the dining space and kitchen; it does the work very well. By the way, I bought a very good product for the first time, and I would like to shout out to the seller that an amazing product was shipped. I am good with finding defects or damages when purchasing items; I couldn't find any open, visible damage sign. I am surprised, and I have a satisfaction like if I bought a brand new one. The actual box dimension is 13"h X 7"w X 21d. The front grill is magnetic and removable. Even if I bought the used one, it had all the items that should be in the box if it was new. Well, I like music, but I don't have enough knowledge of sound evaluation; I love it, so please take note if you feel differently, then feel free; I just gave my opinion and thoughts. I will recommend it with no hesitation for those who are not expecting a high-end sound in a smaller box but might be satisfied by its power. Hope it helps.
