The Octonauts Explore The Great Big Ocean: Now a major television series!

My kids (ages 4 and 7) have been big fans of the Octonauts books and show for a couple of years. I bought this book as a Chanukah gift for my 4 year old, who in particular loves the "Vegimal" characters. This book tells the story of the origins of the Vegimals -- how they were discovered and grew, and takes the readers on an adventure throughout different sea habitats searching for the vegimals own habitat. The pictures are bright, modern, colorful, detail and completely engaging to both children and adult readers. There are several diagrams in the book that my son loves to examine in great detail -- names of each Vegimal, parts of the Octopod, things to pack on a trip, and different flavors of kelp cake. There's something slightly reminiscent of a Richard Scarry illustration and yet a bit more modern and hip. This book is also a great introduction to different sea habitats. I highly recommend this for ages 3-8.

My daughter LOVES the Octonauts show and while this is what it is based off of, they are different (the show is partly sponsored by NOAA afterall). If you accept that this is a fictional fun little story then it's perfect for little ones. The imagery is vibrant and engaging, the pull-out with the octopod and glow in the dark pages are a huge hit. Overall great purchase

We have an Octonauts enthusiast in our house. I bought the book on a whim and it's been a huge hit. He asks to read it every night, loves looking at all of the different details in the illustrations, and even wrote about how much he loves it at daycare. Highly recommend the book. It would be fun if there were more places with glow and the dark elements but there are a lot of details in the two pages that do glow, which is fun.

My 4 year old recently got into Octonauts and has been asking to read a book about them every night before bed. Got this one and I'm not disappointed! The story has the Vegimals looking for their habitat, and so walks through different ocean habitats. There is a tiny bit of science and learning in here, but it's mostly just an imaginative story (I mean, the main characters are vegetable-fish creatures, so I didn't expect it to be that scientifically accurate). The glow in the dark page is fun, but I have to remember to open it under a light before we read the book or it doesn't work. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality of the book, and my son loves it!

Our 3yr, and 5mo, really enjoys watching Octonauts the show, and likes books. Naturally when the book arrived ( the next day!!! I order it). There was a really keen positive interest. Stocked! Really. It can be a quick read of a brief Octanaut story or an indepth exploration of the imagery and content of each page. Its also a good book to start with because it explains who the Octonauts are, and what they do. While I frown upon some of the Amazon employment ethics at Amazon. The product and service is definitely one of the modern wonders of the man made world. So i feel ok supporting Amazon with my buy. As long as there are more people that benefit from the employment they provide, then who suffer. We will definitelly look into buying more of these book/series from Amazon. Poloitical and Socio ethical issues asise. The Book was well worth the cash, and well worth having a Prime membership to get free next day delivery.

The book is a nice piece well designed and illustrated, the story could be better than the chapter of the TV series, but nice to have kids engage with the series. It offers some excellent data about the Octonauts.

I bought this book for my grandson for Christmas. He is a big Octonauts series fan. I enjoy watching the show with him. He's not the only one who's learning! We'll enjoy reading this book together. I highly recommend it for quality and value.
