Get the one with the DVD
For some reason, these guys will sell you the same product... WITH the DVD included... for the same price. I can see how this is the main one people buy considering it has 600+ reviews, and the one with the DVD has like 70. I made the mistake of purchasing this one as well. 1 star.

Worked great but left horrible red marks. See picture
I would give it 5 stars but it left red marks across my back that will take a few days to go away. I uploaded a picture. I'm going to have to return it.

Great for everyday AND travel use
Recently, I've discovered how amazing Foam Rollers can be for stretching out my tight hamstrings and glutes. As helpful as that was to figure out, it does me no good when I'm travelling. That's because the traditional Foam Roller doesn't fit in a carryon, and even if it did, it just takes up too much volume. That's where this little guy comes in. I love my Grid. It's something I can keep in a drawer at my desk at work, and when I travel, it comes with me. I can fit it into my carryon, and put a few items inside of the hollow center. It's perfect for people like me, who would start to have lower back pain during a long trip away from home. Pros: -Light, hollow, travel ready -Love the way the nubs feel, even though I don't feel like they ACTUALLY do much to improve the stretch. -Hard plastic seems very sturdy. Cons: -Little more than I'd ideally want to pay for something simple like this. When all is factored in, I'd buy it again, but If you can find it cheaper in another package/brand, you win.

SI Joint Issue Relief - A Real Life Changer
As a 6'6" lanky individual that is very physically active, I have suffered from chronic back pain (and referred leg pain) for about a year now. It has limited my ability to do some of the things I love like playing golf or sometimes even bending over to tie my shoes. I went to a chiropractor who said my issue was the SI joint--no MRI was done so who knows if he was right though. Nevertheless he wanted me to come in 8-10 times over the next month for a combination of chiro maneuvers and an accompanying massage each time. I had heard of the foam roller and asked him his thoughts, and his dodgy answer led me to believe that he didn't want me to buy one because it would take away his business. So I went and bought one! Let me tell you that the first 24 hours I had this thing I used it probably half a dozen times (even though recommendations say 2-3 times a day max, but does it really hurt you to do it more?). Within that 24 hour period, my back pain went from a 7/10 to a 3/10 without effort. I can live with 3/10. Also it is amazing how after you use this thing just once, for the next 15 minutes or so my back pain is a 1/10--it's almost like a numbing agent for that brief period after you use this roller. I will admit that at least for my SI joint pain, this thing is very uncomfortable during the process. The recommendation again is 30-60 seconds on the SI joint, but quite frankly I keep going until the pain of the roller on my back subsides, usually about 2-3 minutes. All in all this has been a miracle product for me, and I can't believe it was so simple and cheap. I wish I had known about this a year ago.

I have used better, big disappointment
I have this & it is NOTHING like the OPTP blue roller I used in Physical therapy. I have had chronic pain from a shoulder injury that went untreated…I had two surgeries to try to remedy the pain. I loved the blue roller I used in therapy it was firm but had some give to it..I could do self massage, and stretching on it…This roller however is HORRID..it is glorified PVC pipe! the foam is about 1.5-2 in thick with not much give covering a hard plastic tube. I enjoy deep tissue massage & can handle firm pressure…but this is just painful..I even tried to use it for some other exercises and ended up with bruising! ( I am by no means a large person either!!! 5'2" and 130#!!)

Very painful
This roller is very hard and rigid, no give what so ever. If you are already experiencing pain, a soft foam roller is a better option. This also broke capillaries all over my back in a grid pattern.

A helpful tool for core body workouts
The Grid foam roller is great if you're having issues with flexibility and pain after running or working out. I use the roller after daily workouts and I've noticed my flexibility has increased and my post-workout muscle pain is lessened. Whether you're looking to enhance your core body workouts or just massage your various muscle groups (lats, quads, lower back, glutes, etc.), this sturdy hollow foam roller is ideal for the job. It offers a more realistic massage experience than the solid foam rollers on the market. The Grid roller has 3 zones that provide different intensities of massage -- low and flat sections are meant to feel like a massage with the forearm or palm; the small square sections are firm to feel like fingertips; and the long tubular sections are designed to feel like fingers and thumb pressing against your flesh/muscles. And it uses your own body weight to help it do its work. You might notice a bit of muscle pain when you first begin using it. The discomfort while using it should go away after several days of using it. The Grid is designed with a foam-covered, rigid core in order to withstand constant, heavy use without breaking down. At 13-inches in length and 5-inches in diameter, it's portable enough to stick in luggage or workout bags when traveling.

Well made and designed, strong and durable
This is a great product. Perfect for stretching and rolling. The foam is the perfect density. Soft enough for some give, firm enough to provide resistance and help roll. My one minor complaint is that I would prefer to have a longer unperforated section (with cross marks) as I use on my hip and it's hard to use the roller on an area that large without using the cross hatched sections.
