Amazing quality and deceptively large
Amazing quality and deceptively large. I traveled around Europe with this on my back and it was perfect. It may not be large enough for long-term camping, but it was ideal for my situation... I am a light packer, and I did laundry every few days. Even fully stuffed, it never felt too large or heavy because of the well-padded shoulder straps and the waist strap which helped to distribute the weight. I also didn't have to leave anything behind. I had a small 13-inch laptop and my e-reader in this thing -- each in their own special pockets.I like that it is fairly non-descript because nobody would have thought that I had so many important items inside, and I didn't feel like I stood out as a backpacker. Someone could wear this on a normal basis around the city, to work, to school, whatever your use.Thank you Osprey for making such a high quality pack!

Great Quality Travel Pack
I bought this travel backpack for a month trip around South East Asia. This is the first Osprey item I have ever bought. I was able to pack (with packing cubes) about six days worth of clothes and three pairs of shoes (which included the ones I was wearing). The overall quality of the backpack was great! I am about 5'4" so it was easily adjusted to fit my back and was comfortable to wear while walking through airports and to my hostels. When the waist and sternum buckles were used the backpack weight was distributed evenly and my shoulders did not feel tired. The pack was great because it fit in all the various overhead bins on the different airlines I used throughout my trip. (I also did a quick google search prior to purchasing to see what dimensions would fit in airlines that fly in SEA...this backpack fit most of the ones I read about). After being thrown around a month in SEA the pack held up admirably and lived up to the Osprey brand name.

This pack is not made for a short 5 foot 1 woman. It feels like it has steel plates in the back instead of cushion. After 5 minutes I had to take it off. I'm returning this item.

I was in need of a backpack that had a good laptop sleeve and enough room for books
So here we have a new Osprey day pack. I was in need of a backpack that had a good laptop sleeve and enough room for books. I'm using this at the moment as a school pack. In the past I used my wife's Osprey Metron, which was awesome, but she kept it when we split. I looked for some interesting options, trying to find used Metrons, maybe a decently priced used Momentum, or some other brand. I was pretty happy to find this pack in almost new condition used. I didn't buy it off amazon, as I couldn't spend that much. I own a Manta 36 as well, but that didn't have a laptop sleeve, even though it is an absolutely FANTASTIC day pack, much better than this one.So, let's get down to it. I'm 6'1" and this pack doesn't sit super well on me. I had to extend the straps most of the way, and the sternum strap doesn't sit exactly where I would like it to even at it's lowest point. There is no sunglass pocked, which I miss quite a bit. In it's place is a super nifty suspended tablet pocket, which you certainly could use for sunglasses, but not very will with a tablet in there. The key feature to this pack are those 2 suspended pockets, one for a tablet and one for a laptop. Buying crappy day packs that do not have suspended pockets for those things mean that it could bottom out when you set the bag down. That is not the case here. Everything is perfect as far as that is concern. The front organizer pocket is pretty sweet. Quiet a bit of room for more stuff, as well as a little inner zipper pocket which is great for travel docs. The main compartment is quite large. You could fit 5 or 6 college textbooks in it no problem! The buckles are great. People often overlook how extremely useful dual side compression straps are. These are great for keeping the bag the same size as your load. There are two mesh pockets, but if you use the lower compression strap, they are a little annoying. The top handle is super high quality and I love it.Having owned and used at least a half dozen osprey packs, this one is the least impressive. I can think of no reason why they couldn't have included a sunglass pocket in this bag. There is no pocket for hydration (which is fine with me). The shoulder straps aren't that awesome, nor are the hipbelts. There are no hip pockets or sternum pockets, both of which I used a fair amount on other packs. There is no integrated rain fly, which is a super cool feature of some of the other daypacks Osprey makes. There is no helmet attachment nor reflector pocket. The other thing I kind of wish there was on this pack is a little more structure or padding on the bottom of the bag, as it's just a thin bit of fabric down there. This wouldn't affect the laptop, but it does with everything else in the main compartment. It would also help it stand a bit better. So why 4 stars? First off, all of those negatives are really just me trying to put out that this pack isn't really for everything. If you're looking to do hiking and day adventure with a pack, the Manta is a much better choice. For cycling of any kind, this isn't all that awesome of a pack either. For travel, it would definitely work well. The laptop, tablet pockets, front organizer and nice top handle make it pretty sweet for that, though as mentioned I wish it fit a little better and had a few other features. My recommendation is that this pack is not really worth 130 dollars for most people, and that for Osprey it could have been made a little nicer. Still, I fully believe that it will fulfill my needs of school with electronics and a nice big pocket for books. Add in the dual compression straps, and it stays nice and compact.I'm pretty quick to answer questions if you happen to have any! Happy shopping!

Great backpack! My 12-yr-old middle school son needs to bring lots of notebooks/iPAD/lunch/water bottle to school daily and his backpack is always very heavy. I always worry that heavy backpack may hurt his back since he is a very lean and tiny bone kid. I bought this for him because I was shopping for hiking backpack for my husband and the REI staff recommended Osprey for him. I thought if it is a good hiking backpack maybe it can distribute the weight better for my son. It does! Compare to his old backpack, he said it feel light with the same amount weight. He loves it that worth the cost

Great Osprey Bag, Good Quality
Osprey is well-known for their quality products so it comes as no surprise that this backpack lives up to the name. I was looking for a good quality backpack that would withstand the rigors of plane travel as well as the outdoors and this backpack has definitely met and exceeded my expectations. The laptop slot has been great for plane travel and taking my laptop out quickly for security and sliding it back in afterwards. The bottle holders with the compression straps are great for securing and size bottle to the backpack without worrying that it will fall out. The low profile chest and hip straps stay out of the way when not in use but come in very handy when I carry more gear in the pack for a longer hike. The one downside (and I knew this going in) is that it does not easily sit up when placed on the ground. Other than that, this backpack has lasted me 3 years and is still going strong!
