Solid build quality, buttery smooth action and razor sharp and great deep carry clip.
Overall extremely happy with the honey badger line. Currently own the large drop point in D2 and the large wharncleaver in 8cr13MoV. Both came razor sharp out of the box, able to shave with. Deep carry pocket clip has a great finish and so far after EDC for about 3 months no issues whatsoever. For me the D2 seems to hold a sharper edge longer, I rotate fairly regularly between knives and these are my first bearing knives, I've always been a fan of assisted opening but have found a new love for fluid bearing action and may not purchase another assisted opener for the foreseeable future. Both knives are buttery smooth as far as opening is concerned, the included hex key is also quality and comes in handy for tightening the tension of the bearing to your liking as well as making sure all frame screws are tight. I've had no issue with frame screws loosening on their own and so far I have zero complaints and these are turning out to be my favorite EDC knives to date. The price for me is is just right. Not afraid to pull it out to open a box, open a bottle or anything else for that matter. Scales are sturdy enough for me and I see no issue as previous reviewers gave stated. Single handed opening is a breeze with the enlarged thumb hole, using thumb, pointer finger, ring finger or flipper lever. The only complaint I would have if I was forced to have one would be the hard edge on the back side of the scales, which could easily be smoothed out with light sanding, which I haven't gotten around to doing as this isn't really an issue for me at all. I was so impressed with these knives that I also sent a large drop point in 8cr13MoV to a friend and gave one to my brother in law as a gift. For around $50 if you're thinking about one of these, do yourself a favor and pick one up. Treat yourself! You won't be disappointed! Other knives included in photos to show a comparison of what I typically EDC for a baseline of what I'm comparing to. Another favorite of mine, but not included in the photos is the kershaw blur.

A must buy at this price
I am blown away by how much I like this knife. I read reviews and decided to buy this, very glad I did. The blade is a great shape, centered and sharp. There is no wiggle in the blade in any position and the lock up is very solid. The scales are comfortable and grippy, very ergonomic in my hand. This is a top choice EDC knife, used for work, play, and carrying. This knife is lightweight and sits well in the pocket. This knife stands up nicely against blades that cost three times as much. I'm not saying it is made better than top brands but the value per dollar is amazing. Another positive is that if you lose this one you don't feel as bad. 100% would buy another and recommend highly.

Good Quality Knife, Great Price, Several Good Features, One Negative
This knife is a rock solid product and the price can't be beat. It is light weight, made of quality materials, nicely designed and feels good in the hand. The blade is very stable when extended. The bearings on which the blade rotates provide a quick smooth action requiring only a sharp snap of the flipper to extend and lock the blade. Some may prefer a beefier grip, but to me it is the right balance between size, weight and grip texture for a pocket knife. The pocket clip is only set up for a right handed user, but it's position results in a deep carry position. I haven't bought real expensive knives because there are so many good knives at reasonable prices, so if I lose or damage one I can easily and inexpensively replaced it. The only complaint I have about this knife is in disengaging the liner lock. The liner lock lever often gets pretty tightly wedged requiring extra force to disengage it. I'm not going to try to fix the problem at this point. I'm going to give use a chance to correct it. I'm withholding a star on the review pending resolution of the problem. Update: The sticky liner lock lever continued to be a problem after many blade deployments, so I decided to take it apart and check the finish on the points of contact of the liner lock. Advice: don't attempt to take the knife apart unless you are experienced or mechanically inclined. I found the end of the spring locking lever to essentially be unfinished causing the area of contact with the back the blade to be very rough. This was the cause of the sticky liner lock. I smoothed it with a quick touch of the rotary tool and some very fine carbide sand paper until it was smooth. The liner lock is now very smooth. The issue I raised earlier is resolved. I consider this matter one of quality control since I've not seen this complaint in another review. If I had been unable to resolve this problem myself I would have returned the knife. One other observation I found is that the blade when folded in the handle is off center. I attribute that to the pressure of the lock lever and the detent on the lever which places the blade slightly to one side when folded. The detent is there to hold the blade in the handle when folded, and it's very good at that, so I don't consider it an issue since the blade does not make contact with the the liner on the other side of the handle. 2nd Update: I like the Honey Badger knife so well I purchased a medium size with a tan grip. All the positive things I said about the large knife are true of the medium. Unfortunately so is the one negative thing. The liner lock lever hangs up a bit on this knife as well when preparing to fold the blade. The lever is initially somewhat difficult to move to the left on the way to disengaging the lock. The liner lock lever on this medium size knife doesn't stick quite as much as was the case with the large size, but it's still takes more effort than just the motion to get it started. As was the case with the large knife I took this knife apart and filed and polished the "raw" end of the lock lever. After putting the knife back together the lever smoothly moves away from the back of the blade without sticking. This finishing of the end of the lever isn't rocket science, but it seems to be more than a quality control issue. There needs to be a deliberate minute or two of effort to file and smooth the end of the lever during initial construction. If this matter is resolved I would give the Honey Badger 5 stars. As it came the knife is functional but the initial extra effort to disengage the liner lock was a distraction for me, something the user shouldn't have to experience or even think about. I would have given the knife 3 stars but for the other good features of the knife. I noted on the large size knife that the blade is slightly off center when folded in the handle. That isn't the case with this medium size knife. When folded the blade is centered in the handle.
