Do not fight evil with evil, but fight evil with good.
Spoiler alert! Did Jesus mean every word he said? Even the stuff we dont like or understand? The first two films portrayed christians as a poor minority mocked and persecuted by the world. The enemies in those films were almost cartoonishly portrayed as militant God hating powerful abusers of position and authority out for christian blood. This film gives the antagonist their humanity back and teaches some much needed and neglegted ideas unique to the teachings of Jesus. The first and most prominent one being the doctrine of enemy love. Jesus taught we should love our enemies. He did this not only in word, but in his example. We (followers) were Jesus's enemies, and he not only forgave us, but took our punishment on himself. Pastor Dave struggles with this idea. His best friend gets killed, the church building he grew up in was burned down, local powers are trying to take away all he has and all he can think to do is fight back, to demand justice. The concept of "non-resistance to evil" is also portrayed. No matter how hard pastor Dave fights back the situation keeps escalating. In the battle Dave damages old friendships, agitates more hostility, and creates in the community a view of the church not as a victim, but as an intolerant institution of hate. But as soon as Pastor Dave recognizes his actions were not all in accord with christ, he ask the community to forgive him, seeks reconciliation with damaged relationships, and invites the community to unite under the banner of love. He drops his law suet, works out a compomise with the antagonist, defends his friends murderer and as a result portrayes a jesus the community had not seen before, one of forgivness, mercy, and love. In the paradoxicalness of Jesus teachings we realize that to win we must surrender. Do not fight evil with evil, but fight evil with good.

More realistic.
After watching this film, I read up the reviews and I'm disappointed. Disappointed by the fact people don't seem to understand what was happening 'in the background'. The Pastor couldn't hear God anymore cause he was listening to others. As soon as he re-opened himself to LISTEN TO GOD, God basically told him to let go of the building. What people are FAILING TO UNDERSTAND is that the church isn't a place. The church is the congregation. Our brothers and sisters in Christ. God already had a plan in place. He wanted him to establish a new church in a different location. It's also a lesson about letting go of the past. Too many people these days are screaming and shouting, all about the past. What has already occurred. God doesn't want us dwelling there. Living in the past, prevents us from moving forward. We have to LEARN from the past in order to take the right steps forward. As for the girl. She was struggling with doubt. Everyone hits a point where they do that. I don't know a single believer who hasn't. Her boyfriend, at first, was trying to pull her away from God, when she was his tether TO God. He made a huge mistake that resulted in an accidental death. God knew it, He wasn't going to prevent it. He also knew it was going to eat away at the boys soul, his heart, and his mind. He was scared to confess because he feared a backlash, that no church has any right to give. He did the right thing in confessing. The Pastor, in turn, made a huge mistake in lashing out. He's human. We all are. In the end, the girl was brought back to Christ THROUGH the hardship and struggle and her boyfriend probably accepted Christ as his Savior. I LOVED this movie equally as the first two. God wants us to shut up and listen. Quit trying to put YOUR voice above His.

Great Movie for People Who Have Real Questions About Their Faith
This is an excellent movie. There are some fantastic story lines that are developed with great care. The acting is phenomenal. I think that this is one of the best Christian movies that I've ever seen. Well worth a watch and also a purchase. A huge thanks to all of the people involved with this project.

Hopeful, and Inspiring
*Some Spoilers May Be Included* For the final film of the God's Not Dead trilogy, I think this film truly made it's mark. While the first two films showed hope, triumph in adversity, and the power of Christ's truth; This movie showed something equally as impactful for today's society. It reminds us that God isn't a place, He isn't a single person. God is bigger than all of us and our circumstances. This movie reminds us that ALL of us are equally burdened walking in His path. As much as we look up to pastors and preachers we are all struggling as humans in our own ways, and ultimately we are responsible of ourselves for spreading the TRUE message of Jesus. Love. Jesus was a friend of sinners. He was not contained in a building, he was not teaching the only the people who showed up on Sundays. He was in the world. Spreading love and truth. Not hate. This world truly shows the divisiveness in todays society, and the darkness and bleakness we face as Christians. But it also shows us the hope. The hope that only comes when we out down our arms, our picket signs, when we stop showing our faces of contempt and self righteousness, and embracing others with the same love we receive from our Lord.

The God’s not Dead series isn’t going to win any Oscars, but it has to be said it’s immensely fun! This third film is surprisingly heavy hitting, with some emotional parts. There are a lot of deep issues touched on, including the complexity of sibling stresses, how leaders struggle too, bereavement and how we can disagree well. Worth a watch!

I good representation of what's happening in a world that rejects God. Loved the subject it tried to tackle!
