The new CJRB Kain is a home run!!!
The new CJRB Kain is a home run!!! What a great little buget knife from CJRB. It checks so many boxes. Size, shape, feel, looks, great thumb stud action, razor sharp, amazing liner lock access, and the cutest little pocket clip you ever did see. The aluminum version really looks & feels more like titanium. Makes for a terrific little "gent-carry" knife. The profile is very slim & non-threatening. But WoW, that blade is a real little poker (pointy pointy). Beautiful stone wash & extremely sharp outta the box. I will probably pick up the blacked out version with g10 also. Thanks for making such a sleek little knife at an affordable price CJRB/Sanford Owen.

Worth It
This is great for the price. I never thought I would see the day that you could get such a quality knife for 40 bucks. It's lightweight and fits good in the hand. The liner lock keeps it good and secure in the open position. All the screws are inset leaving a nice smooth surface. Powder steel AR RpM9 is an excellent mid grade steel and it comes wicked sharp. Came good and centered. Pivot has washers so it's not going to be the drop shut action but it works great. Has great access to the liner lock to close the blade. Only complaint which for this price you can't have everything but it would be a captive pivot meaning it wouldn't take 2 bits to loosen or tighten. Hope this helps

Good Knife, stiff liner lock
A good, lightweight knife. The liner-lock is tighter than necessary, but it can be overcome with the right thumb position. The small pocket clip is sufficient, and low profile in a pocket. It would have been a five star knife with a less rigid liner-lock.

Stylish, quality minimalistic every day carry knife
A couple of things you need to know about me. First, I don't like carrying stuff around in my pockets and the stuff that I do carry in my pockets is minimalistic in design. I always appreciate and look for quality features and design. This every day carry (EDC) pocket knife is all that and more. The vibe of the knife is simplistic design that is functional and focused on quality. Everything on this knife has a reason for being there and nothing more. From the ceramic pivot point for the knife blade to the perfectly designed steel clip this knife just feels like you're holding an art piece. It's the perfect size for EDC and I love that it is unobtrusive when clipped in my pocket. The clip is strong so I have no worries about the knife falling out of my pants. The locking mechanism is very familiar and intuitive to use. The thumb post to flip out the knife blade is easy to locate without having to look at the knife. The handle is perfectly ergonomic and it's a pleasure to hold in your hand. Although, I do with the handle were wider. I like the handle, but it would fit my palm better if it were wider. I have the same issue with pistol grips, preferring the longer magazines so my entire palm can grip the pistol. I love the design of it and appreciate the low-profile aesthetic, but it's something to consider. I wanted the black version, but the silver was the only one available. I actually really like how it looks. Almost like titanium and steel. I'm not familiar with the designer, but a quick search helped me discover that he founded Monterey Bay Knives known for their high end designs, so this is a cool collaboration between Sanford Owen and CJRB. Everything about this knife is thoughtful and is an easy recommendation if you are looking for a minimalistic EDC pocket knife or are a collector or just geek out (appreciate) cool products that are functional, beautiful design aesthetic-forward creative solutions to a product we are all familiar. Just make sure you don't forget about it being in your pocket when you go to the airport! I used to buy my dad EDC pocket knives and he loved them so much, but would always forget about them when traveling and they'd get confiscated. At least I knew what to get him as a gift every year. I hope you find this review helpful as you are shopping on Amazon. This pocket knife is an easy recommendation.

This Kain is Able
This is my new "all the time" knife. I'm a knife collector with a passion for quality knives at any price. When I saw this knife and who the designer was, I knew something good was cooking at CJRB. First off, the knife has an arch design which I find not only aesthetically pleasing but also gives you the best ergonomics you can get on a knife. I have extra large hands, but can still get a four finger grip with either hand. I test knives ambidextrously. It is milled for a left hand pocket clip in addition to right hand. The handle is aluminum with inset steel liners for extra strength. Aluminum is usually found on much more expensive knives. The aluminum is lightly textured, giving your hand good grip while still feeling upscale. There is T8 hardware on the pivot and the body which ensures durability with less chance of stripping. The inset liner lock provides rock solid lock up and allows for a slimmer, more pleasing design. The blade itself is beautiful in its design and function. It is made from AR-RPM 9 a spray form steel that is quickly gaining a very good reputation amongst budget/midrange steels. The drop point blades slopes down nicely to use that thin tip for precision cuts. The large belly kept me from sliding out of long cuts whether on paper or double thick cardboard. Oh yes, you have a beautiful slicer that because of the blade geometry, you go through even thick materials, even wood, with ease. And that brings me to the bottom line. That this knife is so light, yet so durable and multi-task functional that it is now my all the time knife. From running short to thick jeans, I have a knife that I can comfortably carry in the office to show off it's beauty, and take camping to show off it's skills . Whether this is your first knife, or one of a hundred knives you own, this will be the one always in your pocket. Highly Recommended
