As someone who is pretty much "glued" to their flat iron and curling wand, I’ve tried my fair share of heat protectants. Most are either too greasy or feel like they’re doing absolutely nothing. The OGX Repair & Protect Bond Protein Spray is a total standout because it actually feels like it's improving my hair while it protects it. Why I’m Keeping This in My Routine True Weightless Feel: They aren't kidding about the "weightless" part. I have hair that gets weighed down easily, but this mist is incredibly fine. It doesn't leave that sticky, crunchy residue that some protein sprays do. Serious Heat Guard: Knowing it protects up to 450°F gives me a lot of peace of mind. Since I started using it, I've noticed significantly fewer "frazzled" split ends after a blowout. The "Bond" Factor: The addition of bond protein repair is a huge plus. My hair feels noticeably stronger and has a healthier-looking shine, almost as if I’d done a mini-treatment before styling. The Scent: In classic OGX fashion, it smells amazing—clean and slightly salon-chic without being overpowering. Performance Tip I like to mist this on damp hair, comb it through to ensure even distribution, and then rough-dry. It preps the hair perfectly for a smooth finish. It also works great for a quick touch-up on dry hair if I'm just refreshing my waves the next day. Final Verdict: This is a professional-level heat protectant at a drugstore price. It protects, repairs, and smells like a dream without making your hair feel like it’s coated in plastic.

Wonderful leave-in and the spray nozzle is absolutely fantastic. I use this after washing, before blow drying and it protects my hair while giving it that beautiful shine. The spray nozzle gives completely even coverage over the hair so you don’t even have to work the product in with your fingers. The smell is beautiful too. Smells high end. I will continue to repurchase this

I do love this! Good heat protectant. I love the scent. I feel like it makes my hair more oily when i use it as opposed to when I don’t. I only use one spray for my whole head. Otherwise, I recommend. Just be aware!

The first thing I noticed about the OGX spray is the type of bottle/sprayer. It is a continuous spray, so one spray covers a lot of hair. You really get the amount that you need to protect your hair with just a few sprays. The scent is pleasant and it seems to make my hair softer and seems to protect it from heat styling.

This product was recommended by Abbey Yung on Youtube and it smells so wonderful. The spray applicator is perfect for even product distribution. This is my second bottle so far. I have long, fine hair, but a lot of it. It doesn't weigh my hair down.

I love the smell of this product. It is not greasy when applied, which I love. It has a lock switch on the top of the spray part which makes it easy for storage and travel. The product is lightweight on my curly hair and saves my curls from looking frizzy after I have diffused.

This is apparently a protein rich product, which is why I was hesitant to buy it. I saw a trusted hair care channel recommend it as an extra bond repair step in the routine so I decided to give it a go. The first thing that I realized is that you cannot apply this to dry hair. Even after the moisture goes away, it’s going to leave that hard film. That is just really weird to work with. So if you are using a flat iron, do not apply this right before styling, use it when your hair is wet, and let it dry completely. The continuous spray bottle feature is really cool. It does actually disperse the product quite evenly. The mist is very fine so for coarse hair I feel like I always have to end up using a lot even if technically I don’t. The amount that comes in this product is pretty fair. And the ingredients are okay too. It does have Amodimethicone, which is good. That is an amazing ingredient for hair, elasticity, and protection. The protein content in this is something I personally cannot measure. I’m not a hair chemist, but I would assume because the brand is marketed as being protein repair I would assume that if you have a bleached hair, that is very porous and has obviously had most of the bonds broken down. You’re probably going to benefit from this more than someone with Virgin hair. My hair is a virgin and I would say it’s maybe slightly heat damaged because obviously even with a good heat protectant, there is still going to be some degree of damage. I find that this product does not give me that super shiny finish at the L’Oreal heat slayer (from their dream lengths line) gave me. But on the plus side this product comes with more heat protectant, and extra added bond repair feature is going to add up in the long run and help you out a lot. Overall, I’m still on my 2-3 month of using it on my styling days which is every 4 days when I wash my hair (I had bought a bottle prior from target) I’m not extremely impressed so far with the bond repair aspect of this because I’m not entirely sure how to measure that on hair that is not significantly damaged, but I would say it’s still worth having this product to my routine if it is helping somewhat with breakage. My breakage in general is not as bad as it was back in 2024 because I’ve added other bond repair and damage repair steps to my routine, but I would say this is adding something to it. Give this a go just for the sake of trying it and if you end up liking it then yes you should continue buying it because this product surprisingly runs out of stock fast.
