I purchased this larger UpWalker for my elderly Dad who is six feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is delighted that he can now stand almost completely upright when walking. (Note: Because the user leans on their forearms when using the UpWalker, they are not able to stand to full height, but the fact that they can stand almost to full height is a definite plus and will, I hope, prevent the spine from becoming hunched over. This is a big win for people who use this walker.) I think my dad's been using a shorter walker for so long that he'd forgotten that he was walking stooped over. It's given him more self confidence, and a brighter and broader view of the world, to be able to stand tall again and "look others in the eye." (his words) He's only been using the UpWalker a short time, but he says that it seems to be taking some of the weight off his knee and his feet, which relieves some of the pain he experiences when standing or walking. This is another win for him because he'd become almost completely sedentary. Now he walks around the house several times a day, which provides much-needed exercise for him. One Drawback: The seat is positioned too low for him to use. One of his legs gives him trouble/pain and makes it difficult for him to rise easily from a sitting position, especially if the seat is too low for his height. He also experiences difficulty balancing himself when he has to lower himself to sit on a shorter seat. May I suggest raising the seat 5 or 6 inches higher or, better yet, making the seat height adjustable, so it can be adjusted to meet each person's specific height and needs? We're trying to figure out how to securely attach a cushion to the seat, so my dad can use it. But because of how the seat folds away from the user when they're walking, I think the cushion may have to be removable. That's a concern because if the cushion moves while he's sitting on it or trying to sit down or stand up, he could fall. So the best option would be if UpWalker can make the seat height adjustable. Would that be possible? Another Request: It would also be helpful if the seat were deeply padded because when an elderly or disabled person has to sit for any length of time, it can become painful and cause their joints to stiffen in a seat like that. Overall, I am delighted that I invested in the UpWalker for my Dad. I only wish the Veteran's Administration hospitals would make these walkers available to the veterans. Even if they covered part of the payment, it would help the Veterans and provide some financial relief to their families. Can UpWalker get the VA to help vets purchase the UpWalker going forward? If you're at all on the fence about buying this walker for yourself or a family member, I'd say try it. There's a return policy, so you can try it and see if it will help. I'm very glad I purchased it for my Dad.

Reviewed earlier and gave a “3” due to clicking in wheels. Company responded and promised to replace. Not arrived yet. But a follow up is in order. 5 weeks out of 3 level fusion. Walking 2 miles a day with this. I get around with cane in home, but I could not walk 2 miles with cane without losing my “ form”. I had l5 damage for so long I developed habit of walking on outside of foot. After surgery I have some recovery there and I’m being very methodical to correct my gait. This is where this unit excels for me. Its sturdiness allows me to reduce weight on lower body and redevelop those leg feet and ankle muscles. I also used it in the house, but less so as I become more mobile. I envision using it for months to facilitate a good fusion and recovery. Negatives? I would prefer word caveats. It’s heavier than the cheap versions you buy locally. But I wanted that. My wife can load it in a small suv, however. All four wheels can rotate 360 and you can lock front, rear or both. I let them spin (you can turn like a skid steer), but be careful until you get used to it. If you are walking on a graded area, like a road that is graded for drainage, you must keep walker from drifting toward the grade. You can avoid that by locking front, rear or both wheels so they don’t spin. I find allowing the movement exercises my ankle tendons and feet. But I slow down in those areas. The seat is excellent. Walk. Sit. And walk some more. Several folks Asked me about it when out with wife. I have no problem referring it. I tell them it’s pricey. But if this is what you need, there is no substitute that I have found. Wheel still occasionally creaks. Once movement restrictions are relaxed, I’ll take it to the garage and work it over. Unless replaced before then Get well

This has been a lifesaver for me. I lost all balance in 2024 and fell repeatedly. The small lean-over walkers were too flimsy and would not support me. This walker allows me to stand upright and move forward without leaning over. We knock it down to take with us in our SUV. It has been a lifesaver! Worth the dollars!!!

I had to cancel my first order because I could never get an estimate on the delivery date. Successful shipping the second time around. Appreciate that it came "fully assembled" with the exception of the add-ons. The rechargeable motion-activated safety light for night visibility arrived broken and I'm told none of the items for this walker are eligible for replacement. I would have hoped to receive better after-sale support for the significant financial investment. While the part is small and not integral to the proper functioning of the walker, it's still disappointing that there is no customer service after the sale. The walker does operate as advertised, so silver lining I guess. UPDATE The seller reached out and replaced the damage item after seeing my initial review. I appreciate the follow up and upped the rating due to the timely response. Thank you.

That's the bottom line -- if you have mobility issues AND you would love to walk for exercise, THIS is the walker that you need. I wish I bought this walker six or eight months ago, when I first heard about it. YES it is crazy expensive as walkers/rollators go, BUT I can stand completely upright using this walker. Therefore I go for a long walk every day, weather permitting. I have begun to lose some weight and I also find that my back and leg muscles are getting stronger, thanks to all of the walking. Having stronger muscles means that I can do short-distance walking much more easily now -- without any walker at all. My mobility issues flow from severe scoliosis. My spine pitches me forward as it is, so bending forward even more in order to push a standard type of rollator cannot help me. But the UpWalker CAN help me. I love this device. I know I can commit to doing everything I need to do in order to get healthier now, thanks to my UpWalker.
