When a corrupt judge is charged with rape, Arthur Kirkland must defend him. Kirkland has had problems with the judge in the past, including one incident when the judge wrongly sentenced his client, Jeff McCullaugh, because of a technicality. Kirkland faces a moral and legal dilemma, especially difficult because the judge admits he is guilty. It's an eye-opening drama with a lot of comedy thrown in. Al Pacino is wonderful in the picture. Yet Jack Warden is the scene stealer in the movie. He's just crazy good.

This Norman Jewison film is set in Baltimore and it's a hoot. This is one of my favorite films with Al Pacino and Jack Warden. It's an eye-opening drama with a lot of comedy thrown in. Al Pacino is wonderful in the picture. Yet Jack Warden is the scene stealer in the movie. He's just crazy good.

Movie is great ... blu-ray transfer, not so much
I have this title in DVD and is one of my favorite oldies (I have watched it many times), so I wanted to get it in blu-ray. The movies is great, 5 stars. However, the video quality was only slightly above that of DVD. Many studios, instead of remastering the original in HD, appear to recode from SD (i.e. DVD quality) version to HD, so it does not have the crispness you would expect in blu-ray format. The audio is decent and they did a decent job of remastering that from DD 1.0 (mono) to DTS-HS 5.1, to give the audio a bit of spatial presence. Not true 5.1 audio, but acceptable. I have seen this video issue in many older movies released in blu-ray. But ... the movie is great. It is of course a satire, but brings to focus the many flaws of our judicial system, even (especially?) today. Pacino's acting is what you would expect ... excellent. The rest of the cast was descent for the most part. 5 stars for the movie ... 3 stars for the transfer.

WOW! Al Pacino Does It Bad Ass!! Hollywood Should Have Given Him An Oscar Worthy Of This Movie! This Movie Is Great! It Portrays The REAL American Justice System Which Is Corrupt Today. And That Is Sad!!! But If You Want To Watch A GREAT LEGAL Movie, Well Watch “…And Justice For All” Because There Is No Justice For All The People, Only Some People!!!!! This Is Not A Comedy But It Portrays Truth. And The Ending Will Knock Your Socks Off Your Feet! It does have some comedy. Laugh Out Loud!!!!! GREAT Movie. Great Job Al Pacino!!!!!!!!!!

Dvd in excellent shape got here very quick
Early AL Pacino and one of my favorites. His final courtroom speech is classic!

You're Out Of Order!!!!!
A very good vintage film. It is the story of an attorney with integrity and a desire to really help people who finds himself in a system rife with corruption. Crazy judges, callous lawyers, prosecutors who want to make a political name for themselves. Al Pacino has always been a great actor....this film highlights how he has depth in his ability to play different characters. This film is comedy and tragedy all wrapped up in an ultra talented lead actor that packs a punch in the end....

Excelente película. Aun que en la película específica que es región 1, mi Blu Ray que solo le los DVDs región 4 si la reprodujo sin problemas.

I like most Al Pacino movies. Well acted, great story.

Sin duda la recomiendo, la actuacion de Al Pacino es francamente memorable, sobre todo en la escena final. Por lo demas la película está muy bien argumentada y la calidad de la imagen, es buena.

Je l'utilise afin de démontrer certaines notions de droit, entre justice et vérité. La prestation de Pacino est vraiment intense et démontre le conflit de valeur qu'un avocat de la défense peut rencontrer dans sa pratique légale.
