Instructions not the best but with a little common sense it works. Key works too.

This lock will fit 1”,1.25” and 1.5” door.The problem with this is the supplied screws have to be snapped to length per instructions.When attempting to snap or cut screws you will either damage the threads or bend the screw.The spindle for this lock has a crescent shaped end that is difficult to line up when installing.The directions for length of spindle cut is incorrect,which makes it to short.I returned lock.Side note:I ended up purchasing another ideal brand lock from Home Depot that looked identical to this lock.However this lock came with 3 different sets of screws for different thickness of doors.The spindle was also flat on both ends and directions for cutting were accurate.much more forgiving during installation..price was $4 more.

The screws and spindle come long and are supposed to be snapped down to the needed length. They are not scored properly to snap. They just bend. Nothing that could not be fixed with a vice, hack saw, and a bench grinder. Good luck if you do not have the tools available.

This lock is perfect for a storm door that only has the little latch on the spring-loaded handle. Our door is much more secure now. I had to drill the hole for the shaft through the door a bit oversize to keep the mechanism from binding and not unlocking with the key.
