it's perfect for PCB and electronic work
the soldering heads are all replaceable. I was using a much cheaper soldering iron before and have found that this heats up much faster and is far more reliable, it's perfect for PCB and electronic work, and all general use. I bought some of the extra different shaped heads and have found it very useful to be able to just change heads for different solder joints on various circuits. I've used this now for more than a year and can safely say it's a great and reliable product, also safer than a lot of the other untested and unregulated soldering irons! 10 out of 10!

Top quality electric soldering iron let down by unsuitable cable.
An excellent soldering iron. However, the cable was heavy and not flexible enough, the result being that when laying the iron down during a job, it would not stay where you put it, even using the small rest supplied with the iron. This represents a safety issue, as the working end of the iron gets very hot and could cause serious harm to persons or materials, if the iron should make accidental contact. A quality product spoilt by wrong choice of cable. There was no easy way to disconnect the cable, so a more suitable type of cable coud be substituted. These comments should be passed on to Antex.

Worth Every PENNY dont get the cheap one!
I was going to buy the cheap soldering Iron listed (a package deal) on here instead of this. But I luckily remembered the cheap one was the same one my brother had owned before and it burnt through the plastic handle! very unsafe this however was for my first TV PCB repair (successfull!!!) And I didnt have to worry about the handle being hot or if I left it on for to long it did the Job FLAWLESSLY the quality is superb and will probably last me years, dont cheap out get this one, it was one less thing I had to worry about.

Good iron.
Nice soldering iron, feels like decent quality. The stiff lead is the only thing that lets it down. It wants to go back to its packaged shape and resists bending so you end up fighting it when you want to rotate the iron one direction or another. Have accidentally burnt the lead a couple of times already with it wanting to move back into whatever shape it was stored. Would still recommend though.

A simple to use and highly reliable 18 watt soldering iron.
One of the best 18 watt bench soldering irons out there. Mainly used for smaller scale solder projects like soldering audio cables and XLR TRS connectors. Works perfectly for these projects.

Useless holder
I had left my soldering kit behind and purchased this as a stopgap solution. Antex has been my preferred brand of soldering iron for over 30 years and this is the first time I’ve been disappointed. The older versions had removable hooks to secure them, this has gone and been replaced with an awful flimsy stand which is not fit for purpose because it cannot even accommodate the stiffness of the mains lead. On first use the iron jumped out of the stand fell to the floor and burned a hole in my dogs’ new bed which was unfortunately beside my work bench and had cost more than twice as much as the soldering iron. Thankfully no dog was in it at the time. I have now retrieved my soldering kit and will be selling this one on simply because it cannot be secured properly which makes it a hazard.

It is what it is Antex XS series say no more
this is exactly the exact top quality iron i knew it would be with it being Antex so no suprise here . P.S asumming I was retarded and diddnt read what i was paying for and missed the part where it states this iron has a PVC cable id still be led to belive that it has such a cable by the product image negative comments related to silicone cables should be discarded as they are not related to this product you get exact what you are paying for here maybe people should read what they buying to avoid being let down on arrival or stop being pussys and just grab the tool and use it like a man then plastic cord wont have effect =P

Comprato a novembre scorso.
