I’ve been using this 4L electric composter for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed. It’s super easy to use, fits perfectly on my countertop, and looks very clean and modern. I love that it’s completely odorless—even with food scraps inside, there’s no smell at all. The low noise level was a big surprise. I can run it during the day or even at night without it being annoying. It simple and effective! What I like most is how fast it turns food waste into dry compost that I can actually reuse as fertilizer. It makes me feel good knowing I’m reducing waste and doing something better for the environment without any extra effort. If you cook at home often and want a clean, smart, and convenient way to compost indoors, this machine is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend! Im loving!

I have been using a composter for 4 years and unfortunately I had to purchase a replacement. I am very impressed with the Ouaken 4L composter. I held off on reviewing to make I tested the machine first. What I experienced: 1.It is compact - much smaller than my previous one but larger container. 2. easy to access with the top that is removable ( also easy to keep clean since the top can be washed). 3. Very little smell for a short bit then no smell while in operation - it’s so nice to not have a kitchen that smells while composting. I was skeptical but really no smell! 4. The 2 options to break down the food waste is great! I can decide when I need the really nutritious composte for plants and most of the time can use the crush mode since it’s a very eco/low energy mode. 5. Because the surface is smooth it is so easy to clean the outer body and I can easily wash the inner pail or use the clean option. 6. It works on my small kitchen! I recommend this composter - it reduces the impact on our environment and creates awesome plant compost!👍😁🌱🪴

It is very easy to use; it is a high quality, well made appliance, I could hardly hear it working, it runs so quietly. The finished product of the crush mode, (which is what I use) was some dark, small amount of dry material which is easily poured into another collection container, awaiting my using it outside on my plants. There is no odor whatsoever. The lower part of the picture shows the crumbly finished product, ready for my outside

It is amazing to me how well this product works. First of all it’s VERY quiet. You hardly notice it (I was sitting nearby). I had started it in the evening and when I got up the next morning it was done crushing. The consistency of the end product was a bit coarse and a little stringy but it was dry and greatly reduced in size. I was very pleased. I had started out w/about the bucket being slightly more than half full of scraps and ended up w/less than 2 cups of “compost”. I have not yet tried the “ferment” cycle as I’m not yet in need of actual fertilizer. The only downside was the “earthy” smell as it was crushing the scraps. So I have moved the composter farther away from where I tend to sit and that will no longer be an issue. I think this product works very well and I’m very pleased with my purchase.

My previous one from amazon broke down, so I decided to get this one! It is compact enough to sit on the counter without taking over the space, but still holds a good amount of daily scraps like vegetable peels, coffee grounds, and small leftovers. The different modes are straightforward to use, and a full cycle finishes within a few hours, turning the scraps into dry, crumbly material that is easy to toss into plants or the yard. I recommend running it overnight. Noise has been surprisingly low, to the point where it can run in the background in the evening without being disruptive, and there has not been any noticeable odor while it is working. Agreed with other reviews on this. For a simple way to reduce food waste and feel a bit better about what is leaving the kitchen, I recommend!

Have had the Quaken Electric Composter for a one week. The unit performs the composting function very well, however I must say the charcoal filtration system does not provide odor free processing. We have tried various smelly foods to see how it does i.e. onions, fish, eggs etc. In all cases during the crush & fermentation cycles, but particularly cooked fish scrapes (mixed with other vegetables), the kitchen, and ultimately the rest of our home, definitely smelt of fish, not exactly pleasant. Definitely required us to open windows etc. Other batches of items have had unpleasant odors as well. The manual does not provide any information on charcoal replacement other than to say charcoal pellets must be 4mm or greater. Activated carbon replacement seems simple enough (no instructions in manual of how to complete replacement) hope it helps! Unit is very easy to clean, quiet during operation, holds plenty of food scrapes, and has a small footprint.

I got my wife this composter for Christmas -- how romantic! We like the Ouaken 4L because it is small enough to fit easily in our kitchen but still large enough to accumulate scraps for 2-3 days before we need to run it. The "soil" it produces is much like you would buy in a bag at a gardening store, with a faint, pleasant earthy smell. We were initially surprised at how long the ferment cycle took, sometimes as much as 14 hours, but we just start it when going to bed and by mid-morning have a nice bucket of soil conditioner. It makes little noise and is a solidly built machine. We expect our plants are going to thrive on a continuous supply of good soil from our leftovers.

This is a great little machine. I followed the directions for what to add, and used the "crush" feature first. Within 4 hours, the machine heated, crushed, and reduced the veg/coffee ground/eggshell mixture into a nice dark dirt. The bin side reduced the veg matter from a full bucket to about a 1/4. So efficient! It's quiet and odor-free. I'm trying the "ferment" cycle next, and putting the results in a giant tub to use for the garden in spring. I've been researching these table-top machines for a while, and I'm so happy with the Oauken composter.
