Revell of Germany Fokker Dr.1 'Richthofen' Model Kit

My son is an avid model-maker and he seemed to enjoy putting this one together immensely. The fact that it comes sort of pre-painted because the molded plastic is already red, saved him a lot of time. It looks good on display too.

This is real blast from the past! A decent model that makes into a fun build! If you are looking for heavy detail this is not your model but it is fair in that regard. The parts fit good and should be fine for younger modelers. This is an old mold but I truly enjoyed building it.

Loved working on this model. I had to build this to go with an 8 by 10 picture of Von Richthofen and his Blue Max medal.

The model was smaller than I expected but went together fairly well with the exception of the wings. the struts are hard to line up and some of the grooves noted in the instructions are non-existant. The red plastic saves a lot of paint and looks good after the decals are attached. When finished and hanging from the ceiling it does look good. I would not recommend this for anyone under the age of 14 unless they have built models of this caliber before.

Purchased this model for my 10 year old nephew. He hasn't seen it yet, but I have looked at it thoroughly and it is listed as difficulty level 3, which means it has at least a hundred pieces that need to be glued together. My nephew loves to learn anything about WWI and he is also a huge Snoopy vs the Red Baron fan which is why I purchased this model. I hope my nephew will think it is as cool as I do.

On time in perfect condition

This model needed a lot work to make it work. The plastic pieces are poorly cut. Some don't line up, some were missing holes, most edges are rough. Looks nothing like the picture on the box. I bought this for a beginner model maker and this was more frustrating than it was worth.

もう60年くらい前にリリースされた超ベテランキットで、当時は世界最高水準、と言われたキットです。 また、まだ国際標準スケールが確立される以前の時代のキットなので、1/28という後にも先にもこのスケールは他に見たことありません。 さすがに金型の老朽化が進行しているようですが、このキットにやれ、バリがどうの…などというのは野暮です。 キットのデカールは、商品見本写真の「まっすぐな鉄十字」の他に、十字の先端が広がった「アイゼルネス・クロイツ」のデカールが含まれていますので、真っ赤な機体以外のDr.1にしたい方にも安心です。 あと、リギング用の黒糸がちゃんと付属しています。(使うかどうかはともかく、配慮として嬉しいです) 大スケールなので、さすがにシュパンダウ機銃はエッチング製のアフターパーツを使いたいところですが、1/28という超マイナースケールのため、アフターパーツなんて存在しないのが残念です。 余談ですが、シリーズにはこの機体のほかにソッピースキャメルとスパッドXlllがあったのですが、なぜか見かけませんね…

I bought this from Amazon after an eBay seller did a flit with my cash. I wanted this primarily as I enjoy building planes, but this one had the bonus of a large scale, but it also had 3 figures so I can make a little diorama out of it. The build was very simple with not too many parts. The detail is basic but that allows us modellers to get creative and add to the inside to make it more detailed. NOTE: you don't get any rigging with this kit, so you need to make sure you have some twine handy. The kit went together really quick with no issues whatsoever. I painted it with Kobra red and a quick clear coat afterwards and the plane is done. I have the 3 figures primed ready to paint and then to do a small field landing strip. Overall a fab kit that is detailed enough for the amateur and basic enough for the more experienced modeller to enhance
