Dos cuentos magistrales que es un placer leer. Dos tragedias humanas donde se funden los mas profundos sentimientos que afloran en sus relatos. Recomiendo su lectura.

La mejor imitadora de Gabriel García Márquez desde "La casa de los espíritus" hasta los "Cuentos de Eva Luna". De ahí en adelante, se convirtió en una escritora de bestsellers que no alcanza la altura literaria anterior. Pero sigue siendo una buena narradora.

What a collection of characters! An illiterate woman who sells words. A man obsessed with a little girl. A woman whose marriage was based on letters written by the wrong man. A woman who spends her life waiting for revenge. A rich man who keeps a girl prisoner. Rascals trying to break into society. A lonely dictator. Invisible Indians. Every character is flawed in some terrible way, and yet, somehow appealing. Somehow you become attached to each of the characters and you want to hear their stories. There is something absolutely magical about these stories by Isabel Allende, stories you can't put down. What is her secret? I don't know. I think she writes with magic ink. But, there is something else, too. Her characters never give up. No matter how bad, how flawed, how actually depraved they may be, they keep struggling toward the light. And so, each of us, with our own struggle to escape from darkness, can relate to these people and their stories. These are some of the finest stories I have ever read. Buen libro. Recomendado

Excellent collection of stories by Allende, one of my favorite writers. Two that I recommend from here are Dos palabras and El oro de Tomás Vargas.

Cuentos de Eva Luna by the great Spanish writer Isabel Allende requires the reader to be more than adequate in the Spanish language. I have been studying Spanish for several years and have little trouble in reading most simpler books, but I am finding that I spend more time delving into the dictionary looking up words than I do in advancing with the story. As far as I have gotten in the book, I have enjoyed immensely, but I don't think I would have purchased this particular work had I known what I was facing. If you are really advanced enough in the language to read this beautifully written literature, then I recommend you buy this book.

Another fabulous book by Allende ( highly recommended) The book is comprised of short stories, each of them introducing us to different settings and characters. The stories are very touching, full of passion, love, drama....

solo puntualizzo che, in contrasto a quanto letto nelle altre recensioni, nel libro che ho ricevuto non ci sono pagine con vocabolarietto e quant'altro. è comunque un ottimo libro di piacevole e fluida lettura. me gusta muchisimo.

No hay manera de que este libro no le guste a quien como a mi, nos guste imaginar y al mismo tiempo reconocerse en los espacios y épocas que latinoamérica nos ha ofrecido. Historias cortas pero hermosas e interesantes. Me encantó.
