Great nostalgic fun
So many games to play with so little time! This think is an absolute blast for anyone interested in retro gaming. Played some of my childhood favorites and it was so much fun. Did not come with nintendo consoles but with a quick youtube search its super easy to add nes, snes, n64, and multiple Gameboy consoles.

Junk
Bought just for super mario and the game freezes at start up and you can’t select 1or 2 players, no buttons responsive on that game and many more. I wouldn’t recommend for children because the buttons are very confusing and difficult to navigate through selections. Very cheap quality

Great Budget Nostalgia Device for the Money
Great device for the money, re.inds meca lot of my first Gameboy color as a kid. Reliably plays games through PSX level fidelity, can go a bit higher with tweaking but ymmv. Comes with many roms of older games, though for more A list studio stuff like you'll need to find your own (easy with a little googling). Would make a good gift for kids, though parents will want to filter through the included games because not all are PG. Also more tech savvy buyers may want to look into installing ArkOS since it's working with the newest versions of emulators and will be more efficient.

No Nintendo games
This handheld retro console is fine and has a lot of old games. However there are a lot of redundant versions of the same games. This console does not come with any Nintendo games.

Decent, especially for being a clone of a clone retro handheld
*** UPDATE *** I'm still leaving this at a 4 out of 5 star rating, but I need to mention that this device performs MUCH better with ArkOS. I will suggest to anyone to gets this device to make it the first order of business to download a compatible version of ArkOS designed for the K36 and get it flashed to a quality 64GB SD card. Since this device only has a single SD slot, you'll want at least a 64GB SD card if you plan on loading up a bunch of SegaCD/TurbografxCD/PS1 ROMs. If you're not using any CD based ROMs, then you can get away with a 32GB SD card since you can fit basically the entire libraries of all systems from Atari to SNES without space concern. *** ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW *** This is a clone of the popular R36S, which of course is itself a clone of the more popular Anbernic device. With that being said, this has solid hardware that is let down by a bad out of box software experience. Even though it has the same RK3326 CPU found in the R36S, it has slightly worse performance only due to software optimization issues. For example, PS1 upscaled on the R36S generally doesn't have much (if any) performance issues, but on the K36 using the same emulator core, there's noticable slow down to the point that either you need to enable performance optimizations (which can compromise some graphics) or simply don't up scale the rendering. Should the OS/Emulators/Software for this device become more mature either through the manufacturer (unlikely) or through 3rd party support (also unlikely unless this device becomes more popular), then there is no reason it can't match performance with an R36S, but as it is, it's a perfect emulator for Turbografx/SNES/Genesis/GBA and lower without any performance concerns. This is a typical experience with such devices. Here's the typical recommendation for the general out of box setup on a new retro handheld. 1. Take it out of the package 2. Find the micro SD card and eject it 3. If it's a no-name brand (and they usually are), then chuck it and get your own name brand one 4. Download and burn a fresh copy of Emuelec firmware to the SD card (Google and Youtube are your friend here) 5. Reconfigure all your emulators and gather your own ROMs You won't be gaming out of the box and if you are, you're not going to be having the best experience. These types of devices take time and experience to setup properly. If you like a challenge, like learning new things and generally like to tinker as much as you like to play retro games, then you'll love this device. 4 out of 5 stars for those who know 1 ouf of 5 stars for those who don't

This is now my favourite mobile gaming device. It’s set up really well with preinstalled games and themes. The buttons feel solid and there’s lots of customizable options in the built in OS. I use this before going to bed and play a few classic games which totally reminds me of my childhood days. The packaging came with some pretty nice bonus items, a USBC charging cable, a screen protector, SD card, USB to SD card and cleaning cloth. An amazing bunch of items that’ll give you the ability to also move items to and from your PC to this console. The screen is also super (sure beats the Gameboy’s black and white screen), the resolution is sharp and the colours are uber vibrant. I haven’t tried loading additional games on this unit yet, but the included manual has some pretty good instructions on how to go about doing transfers. I’ll be using this little baby quite a bit during my business travels.

This K36 from FINGEREVO looks exactly like other K36 consoles. They are quite generic and come with similar software and hardware. What makes this one different are all the accessories that come with it. Most come with one accessory: card reader or screen protector, etc. This one comes with a screen protector, a card reader and a storage case. I find this really great and everything fits well in the case (including the user manual which you will need to have around). The card reader worked fine for me, I even used it between my Mac mini and my Steam Deck (with a USB A to C adapter). This console does not come with some of the most sought after games but a quick search on YouTube or Google will set you on your way to them. The UI is smooth and I had no problem with older games but PSP and PSX games had a lot of lag and stutter. I think this needs a firmware update because at this point these are not really playable. The console feels well-built with high quality materials and a nice and bright screen. It feels good in the hands although I found it a bit narrow even with my small hands. There are 2 things I really don't like about it. First, there is a red or blue LED light in the middle on the console that you cannot turn off. It is blinding when you play in the dark. It is blue when the console is on and red while charging. I believe the clear versions of the console make this light more unbearable than the opaque plastic one. If I were to get this again, I would get the grey version. That LED light does not turn off once the console is fully charged. In fact, the only what to find out if it's fully charged is by pressing the power button to see the battery charging indicator on the display. The second thing I don't like are the very loud and "clicky" shoulder buttons. They are super loud and playing in bed late at night is not ideal at all unless you are single. I think this FINGEREVO version of the K36 is a great buy and if you are into emulating retro games I recommend this version over others due to the great accessories that come with it.

Screen resolution is great for such a compact device. Has the feel of a old school gameboy but it's a bit more ergonomically set up than that. Easy to set up, sound quality is great as well, comes with a 64gig mini sd card as well. Main issue is that some of the preloaded games are the Asian version, which is not that big of an issue to some, but they the default language in those games is not english, so it's hard to navigate them to try to get around to seeing if you can change it or not. The L1/l2/r1/r2 buttons on the back are all across in one big line, which is an issue if the game uses both of them, as your fingers automatically curl around the outside ones to try to hit the inner ones. They needed to put them on separate lines or in different spots to really make them useful, which takes away from some of the more "recent" system games to play.

The console itself is cute, and comfy to hold, with two shoulder buttons on either side. The emulators seem to run fine and I didn't see any lag with input. It does not have any Nintendo emulators or games, and in terms of games for the other systems, there's lots of 'filler' games, repeated versions and demos, and an over-abundance of sports related games. You can add more games via the removable SD card and it does come with a USB reader for it, though I haven't checked to see if you can add emulators too, as I'm a bit wary of connecting an unknown formatted SD card to any of my computers.

This console is awesome for reliving childhood gaming memories. It’s preloaded with a ton of games, though there are a few repeats due to regional variations or different titles. The controls feel comfortable, and the screen quality is really nice for retro games. Easy to pick up and enjoy right away. Totally worth it!
