Beautiful and Reliable
I purchased this set to replace a similar Peugot set that I’d had for about ten years. I know the set may seem like an extravagance, but the salt and pepper mills work well, without fail. They’re also attractive and extremely well made — and are compatible with almost any dinnerware. I’ve bought similar additional sets for family members, as they also made a great gift, and are packaged in a very sturdy and lovely gift box.

the goat of electric pepper grinder
I make golden paste a couple times a month. A crucial ingredient of the recipe is 2-3 teaspoons of freshly ground pepper. 2-3 teaspoons of ground pepper is not easy with a hand grinder. Another electric grinder I had put out an inconsistent grind, and did not have a consistent output of pepper. It took the same amount of time to grind the pepper as the non electric grinder, I just didn't have to grind. No better in my opinion. This one, though expensive is the goat! It does what it says. There is a consistent output of pepper, on going if I hold the button, and I can choose the grind size, and its fast. If I had to find something to improve, I guess I would say the reservoir where you put in the peppercorns is small, needing to refill often. And there is a little extra ground pepper that comes out after you finish grinding. However, even with those details, if you are looking for a good pepper grinder and want it conisitan and effortless, this is the product for you. It does not disappoint and its worth the cost.

Peugeot is a quality line these mills do not disappoint
This item is a more expensive pepper mill and salt mill but so easy to use. Battery Operated. All you do is fill and screw on top then press when you want sale or pepper. You can control the amount you want to dispense on your food. Sharp looking and comes with a little flat stand if you desire to use it. It did not come with great instructions but a quick google search brought up how to set up and use. I really like grinding the salt and pepper.

Bad Ergos, Poor Performance, WHY Rared So Highly?
I canNOT for the life of me figure out how these grinders rate so highly. My experience with them has been nothing but terrible. First, they take six AAA batteries… each. Which is just plain silly. The process to install them isn’t hard, but it’s unnecessarily fiddly and hints at poor engineering and lack of attention to detail. Second, the ergonomics are terrible. The top buttons are actuated with the lightest touch. Which means, unless you pick either grinder up very carefully and don’t touch the top, you’re going to start grinding before you’re ready. Oh, and once you DO grind some salt and pepper… be sure to give the unit a shake after you’re done, because otherwise you’ll be dribbling grinds on your counter or table. Last.. after just a week of use, the salt grinder insisted on dispensing big, rough, uneven chunks of salt regardless of the setting. I tried everything I could think of to rectify this: removed the salt container, looked for a jam, readjusted the grind setting… but I could not restore the salt grinder to proper operation. Given how many another flaws I see in this set, I’m just going to cut my losses (and reduce my annoyance) pitch these in the trash, and get some non-Peugeot manual grinders. Not at all recommended for any purpose.

Quality item as expected from Peugeot, way better than cheap competitors.
I have a finger grip injury, which made gripping and grinding pepper/spices painful, so I looked for something electronic. I purchased a generic $25 one from Amazon, and hated it. It grinded soooo slowly, and was very unergonomic (you had to keep a high tension button pressed down). I decided to splurge a bit on a Peugeot one, because I previously purchased one of their manual mills, and found it quite good, so I figured maybe they'd do a good job with the electronic one. I was right. It grinds much faster (probably about 30-40% faster, but that's enough), it feels ultra premium and solid, the button is just a "touch" button, rather than one you have to press, so it's very ergonomic, and it comes with this plastic rest, which does a really good job of catching stray spices from going all over your table (the cheapo one came with a lid, that would require you to de-attach the lid each time you used it). My one complaint is that the spice resevoir is a little small, so it will require more frequent refills. But overall very satisfied, and would purchase again.

Wow finally and electric salt and pepper mill that works!
Okay I have tried several cheap salt and pepper electric mills. They work okay for a while then break. Always break within a year or 2. These Peugeot Elis mills are the real deal. Very well made and have a lifetime warranty! They cost way more but are really worth it. The grinds are adjustable with ease and the LED lights help you see the amount of salt or pepper going on your food. The electric switch is really a soft touch making it easier to use. Be aware the salt grinder can't grind "wet salt". Wet salt is the gray sea salt. All other salts will work fine. I wished I had found these years ago. If you like wet salt you need to get a Peugeot ceramic hand salt grinder.

Best motor powered Pepper Mill you can buy
It has been decades since I was a brand snob, but I have to say this Peugeot mill is as good as it gets. Excellent grind control with U-Select, a proven mechanism that just works right out of the box. I went with the powered Peugeot because when cooking I am usually using each hand for something, and there are several times when I just don't have two hands to mill pepper. This little gem gives me the best fine grand pepper available and the aroma and taste are out of this world. It seems a bit pricey at close to $100 but the quality of the milled pepper it gives you will transform your cooking and eating experiences. As of December 2019 this is the best motor driven pepper mill you can buy. If you can afford it, buy it.

LOVE IT (after I changed the batteries)
I have had several Peugeot salt and pepper grinders over the last 20 years, including the original model, the rechargeable model and now this new touch top model. First, they’re great — but a caveat: they don’t last forever. On average, I’ve had to replace one about every 10 years, and that’s OK. Once you get used to the convenience of using an adjustable electric grinder, it’s hard to ever go back to the manual kind, especially if you do a lot of cooking and you are a big fan of fresh ground spices. So far, this has been my favorite of the three models that I’ve owned, but I almost sent it back. As a veteran owner, I already knew how to take it apart and insert the batteries, fill it with pepper, and put it all back together. (It’s a little tricky — NOT completely intuitive — so if this is the first time you are using a Peugeot electric grinder, read the directions.) However, when I set this one up, it didn’t operate. So I sat down with the instruction booklet and confirmed that I had done everything correctly and it just wasn’t working. Disappointed. I was resigned that I would have to send it back. But I decided to give it one last try by going to the market and replacing the batteries that came with the grinder with new batteries from the store. VOILA!!! Works like a charm. I am thrilled that I don’t have to return it. I’ve read the reviews about machines that stop working prematurely, so I’m hoping this one lasts as long as my others. If it grinds to a halt (no pun intended), I’ll try changing the batteries. On the other hand, we all know Peugeots can be temperamental!
