I would like to hang these on the wall. How flat are the backs of the house and are the to heavy to hang?

I do not have them out yet (not Christmas). They are ceramic, smooth and I believe the backs are all flat. I'm not sure how you would hang them on the wall though because there isn't any attachments.

Is this the same set that bed bath beyond has for $59.99? if so can i purchase the housea separately?

yes, it is the same set sold by BBB... i have seen a couple of the pieces sold separately here on amazon... you would be better off to buy in the set option at either amazon of BBB.. the individual pieces i saw were expensive per piece.... i sent mine back.. for the price, the quality was sadly disappointing. the cutting of the windows and parts were skewed and crooked and one house was cracked..
