If this is your first attempt at modeling be prepared to be patient. Watch how and where you pick it up, hold it and install pieces. Pay attention!! Pre-fit pieces and trim as needed. Take your time and understand instructions. If the pieces look fragile then they are. I’ve been building models for over 50 years and I learn on every single one. I also spend time on detail of my own that is not in the instructions. This one turned out absolutely beautiful and I enjoyed every second of the build. Roughly 35-45 hours. But mine looks custom built.

Best wood build I've done, out of dozens, in various brands. Pieces easily removed, none broken. The only beef I have is the so-called double-sided tape, glue works just fine. I used Gorilla Super Glue Gel, takes just a minimal bit and dries quickly. And some of the stickers disintegrated while removing, that can be improved too. Overall a good time assembling.

Challenging but rewarding construction project. I have relatively large hands and do need to use tools to manipulate small wooden pieces. Box proclaims "NO Glue". That is avoiding their resorting to TINY two-sided tape strips to secure some pieces. That is a maddening process. Not easy at all. Sharp long fingernails would help. Instructions are 90% clear pictorials. The other 10% requires repeated review of the pictures to make sure you understand what you are supposed to do. And even then, you're not sure. In one step, I needed to use a magnifier to see what was represented in picture. I wear glasses. but my vision is not that bad. Again, the project is rewarding. I'm obsessed with trains. But ex time, any such project will have to be ALL wood for me. Not "and other products". The engine boiler is covered with fabric!!!

directions were hard to follow sometimes. many smaller pieces broke easily. needed other ways to adhere paper designs to wood. had to use glue once in awhile. overall a good product even if made in China.

I've put together many of these styles of kits, and this one has been exceptionally enjoyable. To me as an experienced builder of these kits, I appreciated the well-thought out plywood sheets, good instructions, and that this kit has especially well-fitting pieces compared to many other similar types of kits from other manufacturers. This one is especially eye-catching due to the use of colored woods which give it a really nice pop of color compared to most other kits like this that are just plain wood colored. 100% would buy again! Though due to the small pieces and sometimes-delicate assembly, this kit is best for someone at least teenage or older who is willing to take the time to build it slowly and enjoy the construction process and not just the end kit.

They are fun to build.

This is the best craft plywood kit I have built, to date! A few notes: 1. It would be better for 17+ year olds. The kit has a lot of delicate parts. 2. Take care with the brass-colored stickers. Otherwise, they will roll up or corkscrew. It is not possible to pull them apart if they stick together. On the plus side, it is very easy to make new strips out of the spare sticker sheet.
