A must have before installing ceiling fans
This packet of hardware is pretty insignificant under most circumstances. However, I just hung a new ceiling fan that didn't provide any of this hardware. I did a lot of swearing while fabricating adapter plates to mount the new fixture to old work electrical boxes. Take my advice. If you're going to hang new fixtures get at least one of these type packets to have on hand before starting your installation. Life will go much smoother with these devices already available, and the cost is minimal.
