Awesome Ocean Science (Kids Can! Series)

This book looks awesome. I bought it to use as part of an ocean studies year with my second grader. Full of great information as well as great experiments that you can easily do at home. All the supplies are things you have or are easily attainable. The experiments are not to complicated but fun enough to hold interest. Very fun! We also ordered the Sea puzzles companion book also by Cindy.

I was looking for a good book for my daughter who is very interested in Marine Life. This was above and beyond what I expected. The pages are colorful and engaging. So many different activities to do! Full of information on ecosystems and animals!! Planning on making it a unit study for my homeschooler :)

I bought this book to add some hands-on learning to our Creation Science study of the Ocean. The book has been great, despite a few spots of evolution-based science and environmentalist undertones. We simply look over those points and use the applicable lessons. Most, if not all activities can be done with household items and don't take longer than 20 minutes to do, most take even less time.

Lots of cool experiments that the kids have fun doing. Added bonus...they learned a lot.

We're just a few pages in and already enjoyed making the recipe for Ocean Pie. A fun read for kids and parents alike.

Yep fun and more fun

This is an excellent book for children. My granddaughter is 7 and she loves it. My 12 year old would love it too. I plan to buy more in this series.

Purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my 7 1/2 year old grandson. Will let you know how he likes it after Christmas.

I purchased this book to use as a companion to the DK Classics 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, for my home school study unit - Oceanology. It is recommended for ages 7 - 12 and that is about right. It was a fantastic resource. Almost everything we wanted to learn about was found in this book. It also had some nice activities to do to help understand the concepts presented. The chapters are: Begin Your Ocean Adventure, The Magic of Our Water World Mysterious Moves: Waves and Currents Changing Scenes: Shorelines & Tide Pools Secrets of the Deep: the Ocean Floor Sea Life: Will the True Fish Please Swim By Saving Our Seas: Stand up and be Counted Together with Science Nature Guides Oceans & Rivers by Dr. Frances Dipper, and some others we had a super Oceanology Unit. I would recommend Awesome Ocean Science by Cindy Littlefield to anyone wanting to learn about oceans.
